This restaurant is incredibly discriminatory against children. They clearly do not want children at their restaurant however don’t mention this at the time of the booking. My daughter who has autism was watching her IPad at the table not bothering anybody, when the owner came up and asked us to turn it down. We turned the iPad down to the point the person two chairs away was unable to hear. This was apparently not good enough, the owner then took it upon herself to bother other guest eating in the restaurant to ask them about the iPad and then approached us again. The other guest did not make a comment on my daughter, but the owner went out of her way to bother them about it. We explained to the owner that our daughter was autistic and is not able to tolerate headphones, to which she replied this was not her problem. They are completely unaccommodating and incredibly rude. They advised us that we should ask permission to bring our child’s iPad like we would ask permission to bring a cake. It’s the year 2023, most children come to dinner with iPads!!!! Would never recommend coming here in a...
Read moreWe ate here in January 2015 and I have to say it was one of the better dining experiences I've had in Townsville. It was a hot, humid Thursday night and we were the only ones there (outdoors), but the atmosphere was still charming and not awkward. I also noticed another review saying the tables were too close together — at least outside this is not the case. It's BYO with a $3.50 pp corkage fee, something to keep in mind if you're going to bring a date and want wine or spirits. The food was superb, I had the lamb and my friend had the Rainbow trout. The large dishes are relatively small, so make sure to get the large if you're even slightly hungry. Both dishes were delicious. ~$75 for just the two main dishes and no split checks. The service was really nice, both Wayne and Adele were very friendly and helpful, and the service was prompt while also being relaxed. A great place, I would recommend it and...
Read moreAn eclectic and romantic atmosphere at this little restaurant. Indoors is vibrant and tastefully quirky, yet cosy at the same time, and the lush outdoor secret garden experience is romantic as heck and perfect for date night with all the fairy lights. The best part though, is the food. Weird and unique flavour combinations are, to put it plainly, extraordinary! Chef Wayne is an absolute genius. Your brain and tastebuds will go 'wow' with every mouthful. All the times we have visited, the food is cooked to perfection. Quite a feat when Wayne is the only person in the kitchen! Adele is the most amazing host. She makes you feel welcome and comfortable and you never feel rushed. There is not another place like this out there, and everyone needs to try it out at least once. You'll fall in love with the place just like we did! Cannot recommend this lovely little spot...
