My wife and I had a THE MOST TERRIBLE experience at this restaurant. We decided to dine at this venue and made a booking. The restaurant booking site said it would get back to us with the booking confirmation but we never received it. Then we called them back and the restaurant said you could come. When we arrived at the restaurant no one to greet or seat us and barely had 3 staff running around. After waiting finally got the table 7.
We ordered a pint of Beer, an entree as Seekh Kebab and Fish Pakora. The main was Lamb Rogan Josh, Prawn Masala, Garlic Naan, Cheese Naan and Onion Salad. We asked to make both the curries spicy, The server noted the same and repeated the order.
Seekh Kebab arrived at the table but the beer came 10 minutes later after reminding the server. Then we ordered an additional fish Pakora to try before the main. It came fast and the taste was unbearably awful. They use old oil and the smell is foul and we could not eat at all. In a few minutes, the mains arrived, Lamb Rogan Josh and Prawn Masala were cooked in basic tomato sauce. No marination of any, not hot served and the taste was horrendous. Definitely not an Indian food. Our server forgot to bring Onion salad and after reminding it came after 6min. We inquired about the curry taste and the server vanished and never returned to the table again. Another server came and tried to explain to us that as the food was normal and if you want spicy we can make ONLY one item spicy. Then she took Lamb Rogan Josh and remade the same with red chili powder and brought us. The powder wasn't even mixed in the curry. What a dumbest culinary act we encountered here.
We decided to leave instantly with this disrespectful act. Seekh Kebab and Naan were the only things we could eat. We took Naan and onion to take away and eat at home. Came to pay at the reception and they didn't even present a proper bill to us. No printed check and ask to pay verbally. is this legal????????? Hope owner have CCTV to check the flow of the restaurant and billing. We had to pay $109.00 for a terrible service and the worst food quality and tasteless food ever.
The staff had no idea and was unhelpful, and the food was mediocre at best. Horrible place, I would never visit again and will never recommend this...
Read moreAs it's been a few months since I wrote my review, I think it is time to write another one, just to emphasize how much we like Aalishan! But today I want to say more than that their food is to die for; I want to mention the kindness and attention with which they treat their costumers, especially Sagar - the kind of person who will remember that 3 weeks before you mentioned that you had ordered something very nice for starter, but it was not what you really wanted to try... you got dishes mixes up. And the first thing he asks you when you go back is if he may order the dish you had mentioned you wanted to try, and he still knows what it is! It is a very busy restaurant, but they make sure everyone gets the best attention! I wish we lived at least 30 kilometres closer to town, because it hasn't been possible to go every week!!! Yes, service can still be a bit slow when the place is full, but it is such a nice environment and wonderful food! And they really make you feel super welcomed! We always have a great time!
My favourite Indian Restaurant in and around Townsville! The place itself is very pleasant: large rooms with nice furniture and good lighting. Even though service is not brilliant, the staff are very friendly and kind. And the food... the food is to die for!!! I have never tried something I did not like. Prawn masala is my favourite dish by far, but the chicken is also great (and the lamb and...) We try to go at least once a week. I think I am getting addicted to...
Read moreAn Exceptional Dining Experience at Aalishan Indian Restaurant
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aalishan Indian Restaurant, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. Located conveniently with plenty of parking space, the restaurant boasts a spacious and inviting ambiance with a cozy, well-themed interior that is perfectly complemented by excellent air conditioning.
From the moment we arrived, the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff stood out. They were attentive and ensured we had a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Despite not realizing that reservations were recommended, my wife and I were promptly accommodated.
The highlight, of course, was the food. We started with the fish pakora, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. For the main course, we had the chicken Hyderabadi with tawa naan. Each dish was cooked to perfection, with rich, authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients. It’s evident that the chefs at Aalishan take great pride in their culinary craft.
Having visited all the Indian restaurants in Townsville, I can confidently say that Aalishan stands out as the best. The combination of excellent food, outstanding service, and a comfortable dining environment makes it a top choice for anyone looking to enjoy Indian cuisine.
