Three things I learnt dining at Juliette's Gelateria; A four year old will not be convinced that a sparrow is a full grown bird who is not in need of urgent rescue, Gelato is superior to ice-cream, especially with prompt, professional customer service, and Choice paralysis is very real. Be prepared!!

A plethora of flavours was available, so I went with a citrus theme of sorbert large cup (3 scoops). Blood Orange, Grapefruit, and Lemon-Lime were my chosen flavours, paired with mango sparkling drink, and they did not fail to deliver in flavour.

BUT the pull-tab on the drink ripped off.

No credible human of Irish decent is going to let a mere construction of a ring-pull get between them and their beverage of choice. I blame the manufacturer, and not the retailer.

Juliette's Gelateria has a great range, a great set of staff, and a great view to enjoy quality gelato with. AND, for reasons of their own, a stingray performing backflips just...

Came here for a quick drop in while walking down the Strand. It was a few minutes wait to go inside and order as they currently have internal restrictions on capacity due to COVID, however there is an area near the front entrance for lining up, checking in and getting hand sanitiser.

Staff are friendly and visitors are able to sample from a wide range of gelato. There are tables and chairs available for visitors but due to popularity, visitors may not always get a seat.

Juliette's Gelateria is a lovely place to stop, enjoy the view and grab a hot drink or ice cream and is a great asset along the Strand.

FACILITIES: Parking: Yes Wheelchair Accessible: Yes, can be tricky to move around inside however Toilets available: No, public toilets are along the Strand though

PAYMENT: Payment via Mobile/Watch Supported: Yes Card Accepted: Yes Cash Accepted: Yes

COVID SAFE: Hand Sanitiser Available: Yes COVID Check in: Yes Private Details Handled...

Whilst the Gelato was quite nice, the service was absolutely TERRIBLE. Every employee working had a sour attitude that matched their sour expression. They were rude to each other, rude to customers and appeared to despise every single request or question. There were two kids being served before me (maybe 8 and 10yrs old), they both used their manners, spoke nicely and confidently when asking for what they wanted, and the service they got in return was disgraceful. When it was my turn to order, the Juliette's employees came back 3 times to ask what I'd wanted because she was just not listening. Each time I stated my order, she nodded and moved to scoop the ice cream but then had to come back to ask again. THREE times. 😑 She looked like she wanted to be anywhere else other than at work. There was no excuse for the staff's conduct and since there was nothing overly special about the ice cream, I won't be back...

The Townsville experience is a view from Castle Hill and a walk along the Strand eating an icecream. Juiliette's is perfectly place for providing the Gelato. Everything fades for a moment whilst you focus on the icecream and the environment. Cheaper than a psych visit. Better for you than broccoli. When you're in that moment, consider how well you know the local endemic species in your area. Plants, reptiles, birds, frogs or marsupials. Even the species underwater are worth considering. Consider the relationship between how much you know about local species and how much you care about the survival of that species. If you know more, would you care more? How does that sit with our responsibilities as stewards of the planet? What would the world be like if we cared about the struggles of just a few species each? Does our interest or knowledge of our local species play a role in their survival?
