Customer Service Front Counter. Warning. Standards in all areas have dropped.
There are employees who do not want to serve walk-in customers at Front Counter. They rather be serving Drive-Through or doing online orders. And. They will serve their co-workers, first, ignoring other orders placed well before theirs. Today. Came into store. Ordered 3 non-specialty items via in-store kiosk menu system. Paid at Front Counter. While waiting, others came in after me, ordered and paid for larger numbers of both specialty and non-specialty items in the same way. Senior Staff Member serving Front Counter. Served all those other people first, got their orders to them, first. Then remembered my order. Before she finally got my order ready and handed it to me. In all that time. She kept looking at me, her facial expression: hopefully expecting a explosive reaction, expecting me to just up and leave with nothing. She got angry silence. Saw her come out, minutes later, after I was in my car. Realised. The reason for her actions. Her rostered shift had nearly finished. So she honestly did not care about doing her job correctly.
Fact: In the past, both the CEO, the owner and the senior manager would not stand for this kind of behaviour. Or anything else like it. Never. Not for their business. There would be hell to pay. Now. Any employee seen or caught doing this kind of behaviour, if disciplinary or retraining methods did not work to change their attitudes. They were fired. They would lose their jobs.
So. Again. Prices have gone up. Standards and food quality have absolutely dropped. No actions will be taken to deal with this kind of behaviour and attitude from employees. By CEO, owner or senior management.
And, no, I will not be filling out automated complaint feedback forms. These do not get processed. They are conveniently lost. Just like Domino's does,...
Read moreThis morning I had an unpleasant experience with McDonald’s Mount Isa. I had ordered 2x L double cheeseburger meals and 3x hash browns. As I was paying for my order only 2x hash browns appeared on screen, I didn’t bother correcting it because 2 would have been fine anyway. What I didn’t see was that the lady, who took my order, added the extra hash brown to one of my meals instead. Once I received my food, after waiting in the waiting bay for about 4 minutes, I noticed I only received one fries with the 2x L cheeseburger meals (know check each meal from Maccas because they often forget something!). I went back through the drive thru (I had kids in the car so I couldn’t go into the restaurant. I told them what had happened, even the lady who took my order knew there was a stuff up. But even though it was their fault, they still made me pay an extra $5.10 for the large fries that I didn’t receive. I argued with another lady, who I presume was the manager, she handled the situation poorly and didn’t compensate me for the stuff up. While this was going on the staff were all blaming each other in front of me. Lack of professionalism and understanding for their stuff up! Maccas Mount Isa is a joke. Very disappointed with how this was handled all over fries which they were so stingy to give me due to their...
Read moreAwesome Maccas, staff were the highlight! Food was served reasonably quick and all tables were consistently clean on both visits. Floor could do with a mop and cleaning chemicals left out on tables however that's being picky! Another great aspect is you can hear the staff in the kitchen communicating goals and puahuibgto get orders out on time instead of just general chatter, gave me great confidence in the store and the team!
Food was exactly as it should be no issues at all and staff were super friendly and engaged in conversation as they worked to pack up the store last night and this morning as I was heading to the door with heavy luggage - one staff member who was just heading in to start their shift ran ahead from the carpark to open the door for me to save me the trouble. I didn't expect this at all it's honestly a stand out - excellent customer service!
Only issue is there wasn't any Maccas free Wi-Fi. They made up for this with power outlets including USB charging across the store so very convenient for travellers...
