Started out great, staff were extremely friendly and ambience and venue were cool. Drinks arrived and the passionfruit, jalapeno margarita was delicious. Unfortunately that is where it ended.
We order a beef quesadilla as a starter and the 12 hour short rib with beans, rice and tortillas as a main. Quesadilla was delivered to the wrong table and after someone came and asked us, we believe it was picked up off the other table (after being there 5ish mins) and brought to ours. The main then arrived 1 minute after the starter. The quesadilla was nice but the short ribs were dry, way to sweet and the sides were just average and quite bland.
During our meal, when we clearly had food on the table and only about 15 minutes after it was delivered, we were asked on 3 separate occasions by 2 staff members if we wanted our plates cleared. One staff member was trying to be nice but it just came across strange and we were quite confused by the interaction. During this time another staff member had finished for the evening and knew one of the girls at the table next to us so asked if he could sit down to join them. We were at 2, 2 seater tables which were quite close together so essentially he was sitting right next to me. He proceeded to shamelessly flirt with them and it was cringe as hell. I'm all up for someone shooting their shot but not whilst they are practically sitting on my lap in the middle of a date.
We didn't end up finishing our food, quickly got the bill and high tailed it...
Read moreLa Condesa was a lovely place to dine before a comedy show at the Regal, across the street. We were early so had a good table in the al fresco area. Our group of 4 had a mix and match of dishes to share: a few starters, a taco each, and a large main. The kingfish was lovely and fresh, with the assorted pickled/cured trims. But i wonder if they can think of way that we can fully appreciate all of that lovely zingy citrus jus ... maybe some toasted flat bread, or cold rice, on the side? The tacos are good value at around $8 each. Again the flavours are full of zingy appeal in the mouth, and along with the crunch of the trims they sing of appetising freshness. The whole snapper was tasty and generous. To satisfy our sweet urges we also shared a single serve of churros and ice cream ... enough for us all to have small taste each. It would be a great place for a larger group dinner, too, I'm sure. One comment - in my view the music was just a tad loud - in a group of 4 we could manage, but at a longer table i imagine that shouting to each other might be a little frustrating. Maybe I'm showing my age? But it looked to me like everyone was there to talk and catch up with friends or family; so whilst the right music can enhance the atmosphere, it should not be intrusive. Maybe worth a thought ... ? Anyway, I'm very happy to recommend and...

We live local and wanted to sus out this restaurant despite the shocking reviews. The tacos were reasonable, the quesadilla was reasonable albeit basic and the beans were terrible and tasted like they were full of commercial BBQ flavouring. Once again, the wait staff and bar tender were solid.
A voucher was purchased for my birthday back in July, we were surprised to receive no voucher. There is no number to dial and it took several weeks to receive a response via email. It got to the point that we disputed the transaction with our bank in hopes of recovering the money. After a long delay and a few emails we were sent a voucher in August, 6 weeks after my birthday.
We went to the restaurant tonight. Unfortunately at the end of our meal, the manager of the restaurant informed us that part of the voucher T/Cs are that you can only use the voucher one time, regardless of the value of your meal. We were being told that despite our meal costing ~$48, if we used our $150 voucher to pay, there would be no voucher follow through and a $48 meal would have cost us $150. I have never come across this type of practice and warn others to avoid this. Ripping off your customers with terms like this...
