First visited last Saturday and enjoyed our experience tremendously. We ordered several sides and mains and did not have to wait long for our orders to come out freshly cooked and piping hot. The stand outs were the Karaage Don (very tender & juicy morsels), Teriyaki Chicken (sauce was quite tasty), Okonomi Skewer (good combination of flavour and texture with the mayo + okonomiyaki sauce + bonito flake toppings), Salmon Sushi (generous fish to rice ratio, salmon was firm and fresh) and Pork Katsu Curry (large size crispy pork cutlet, curry sauce was thick and rich). Oishi desu! Tried ordering an off menu item but unfortunately not enough fresh salmon was available . They profusely apologised but said to try again next time and to come earlier in the day.

Amazing food levelled up by excellent super fun, friendly and hospitable staff asking several times if all was okay with our meal and if we needed anything else.

Definitely coming back for more and to try my luck at ordering that off-menu Chirashi Don. But more importantly, to be hosted by Kai again.

Highly recommended and deserves...

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! Kai is just amazing and very3x friendly to all his customers. The food was delicious! I ordered a lot: the gyoza (wow!), the potato salad, 2 sushis, karage don, fried yakisoba noodles, fried udon and (Kai's personal fav) chicken katsu curry Hahahaha and they're all yummy! I used to come to Nippon all the time when I was working in my 1st job (about 10 years ago) so it's really good to be back. I was very happy that the food was just as good as I had it back then. The only thing that has changed was the place design which after speaking to Kai, I agreed it is and looks so much better cos I remember it was such a small place in the past with not much room to move. Tbh this visit was totally unplanned. I only suddenly remembered Nippon after a rather disappointing visit to another cafe in Subi, only to be told they no longer served the food I was looking for and yet they failed to update their menu! So there I was hungry and struggling to find where to eat...until I remember Nippon. Thank god for that!!! Thanks a lot, Kai!!! I will...

Decided to try as it looked really good we had a two hour wait for our food then they bought my friends out but completely forgot about me..after my friend finished there order I had to go and cancel mine as it still had not arrived and it was only corn Pattie’s I think it was done so I would order drinks while waiting then my friend would order drinks while waiting for me to eat my meal …l have never been to a restaurant before that serves one partner and not the other together ..l can’t comment on the food as it never arrived but hey it’s their loss as we do reviews on places and we certainly WONT be recommending them to anyone all I can say to them is don’t be greedy and allow more people than you can handle and thats all that it was on Friday 30/12/22 plain greed to see how many people you could fit in without telling them the wait was...

A great find. Solid Japanese at good prices. Seems everyone working there is Japanese and experienced at their craft. The lady serving me was super kind, genuinely trying to make everyone’s day better. It worked, thank you ☺️ The spicy ramen is one of the better ramens I’ve had - but I’ve never been to Japan. It seems quite authentic for the price, and for being 8000 kilometres away from Tokyo. I liked the J-pop music playing when I was there, it made a positive, sunny atmosphere. There is a toilet on-site, some seating, and you can’t hear the road very much from inside.
