In summary: good bar with great beers and live music, severely let down by the kitchen. We ordered dinner, and the first domino to fall was the realisation one of the meals wasn't included, when all the meals came out in a dribs and drabs procession over geological time. One of the meals, the "Thai Inspired Crispy Chicken Bowl", was found to missing 5 of the 6 ingredients (due to the conversation it was only picked up half way through), including the chicken part. Classic substitutions were made: baked beans for edamame, spinach leaves for red bell peppers, red onions for "charred pineapple spear...you know all the classics. When we asked one of the waiter staff which meal this was (as it was clearly nothing we could see on the menu), the kitchen staff sent back the young girl to the wolves, stating "we didn't have any of the ingredients, so we substituted. We can add some more things in if you like...". Luckily our diner who received the "leftovers and other stuff we haven't thrown out yet in the back of the fridge fusion" had no food allergies. You pay a premium to eat out (and I don't mean the additional card surcharge they add on as well as a side note; never understood why you would punish a customer with a percentage fee for spending more but that's another conversation), and with no apologies or refund, only the offer we can add more; kitchen saliva I assume. Sending a young girl out to break the news of the kitchen's deceptiveness? Unforgivable. Avoid if you want anything more...
Read moreWe waited one hour for our food due to a catalogue of mistakes by staff. Our food was given to the wrong table. When that tables food was then brought out and taken back to the kitchen they still didn’t think about resolving the issue. We worked out what had happened ourselves and had to tell the staff what had happened. We then still waited another 20 minutes before our food arrived meanwhile everyone else around us had their food. I actually had to suggest that our coffee was cold before food arrived before a complimentary coffee was offered. Not interested in your copy and paste reply, here is my advice - TRAIN YOUR STAFF and you will NOT receive reviews such as this!!!!! Also issue with ordering waffles on the menu. PLEASE look your menu, waffles with either bacon and maple syrup or berry compote and ice cream. I was told I had to pay extra for the bacon and maple syrup so was charged $22 for waffles and then extra for bacon and maple syrup. I ended up with waffles, bacon maple syrup AND berry compote with icing sugar- an interesting...
Read moreI live above this business within the ‘Oceans’ building. We were very excited to hear 4 Pines were coming to the area and dined in (with guests) twice in their opening weeks.
4 Pines Mooloolaba then commenced playing live music for hours on end across Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, making it very uncomfortable to hear the television within our home - even with windows and doors closed.
We tried to speak with the owner about this but were met with smirks and sarcasm, not working with us at all but instead ignoring our complains completely.
Very, very sad when multiple residents in our building wanted nothing more than to be repeat customers and support a new local business.
4 Pines Mooloolaba are in a wonderful location, with good staff and a good menu, but unfortunately, management have lost us frequenting...
