Chose this place because we had the dog and there was a lot of space and also based on reviews. I think most of the good reviews must be from dinner patrons because our brunch experience wasnât good.
We ordered coffees (1 with almond milk), chocolate milkshakes, bacon and egg with a side of avocado, the green breakfast and a big breakfast all with poached eggs, plus extra poached eggs and fresh spinach.
I have given 2* for the coffee and eggs which were pretty good. Everything else was mediocre. One slice of toast barely had any butter but staff did offer to bring more. Some of the toast, haloumi and veggies were burnt. The kale was pretty good but looked like minimal effort had been made and a lot of the tough stalk remained. The pesto was tasty but runny. A lot of the food including, disappointingly, the roast veggies in the Green breakfast, were greasy - too greasy for us to eat. The side of avo was the most disappointing - $4 for half an avo literally just sliced, scooped and dumped, bordering on overripe and with large black sections that could easily have been removed if a little more care had been taken over presentation.
Staff were pleasant enough but they stuffed up our order a bit at first, didnât offer or bring water to the table - I had to go in and ask - and no one bothered to ask how everything was. If they had we would have told them all of this. Worth about 25% of the over $100 we paid. We wonât...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews, we decided to give Confessions a try, despite it being pretty empty on a Sunday night. We ordered the fish tacos x 2, Greek salad x 2 with calamari and a Caesar salad with bacon. While the service was ok,We were unfortunately pretty disappointed with the food hygiene standards. All the plates that came out were visibly greasy all over with finger prints and bits of food on them. The fish in the tacos was not fresh at all, quite bad flavour although the rest of the taco was decent The calamari was soggy and chewy but the flavour was good The Caesar salad was very generous with the bacon. The Greek salads were very generous, a whole plate, but the lettuce had some slimy bits from being kept for too long. Outdoor Table was also incredibly sticky! Overall, not the best experience for our first night in Mooloolaba...
Read moreNice spot right on the esplanade. Delicious cocktails and large range of drinks to choose from. Unfortunately the food was rubbish, I had the cauliflower steak with vegetables and jus. There was no jus served on my plate. Just a plain old piece of cauliflower and half cooked vegetables with a couple chips on the side which tasted like theyâd been sitting there for a while. Mind you we paid over $30 for each of our meals. My partner had dry, rubbery salt n pepper calamari. Very disappointed because itâs such a great looking restaurant nice vibe and perfect location, unfortunately the food was disgraceful and not worth the...
