Chinese Holiday Restaurant — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

We ordered the fried Duck with plum sauce, the Mongolian lamb, a prawn cocktail and a fried rice.

The duck was tough, full of gristle, dry and fried in a batter.

The sauce was absolutely vile, it was supposed to be plum, however, tasted horrible, seriously avoid this dish, the waitress however told us the dish was excellent.

When I asked for this dish to be removed from my bill ($22.90) I was told that I had ordered it, so sorry, no refund, at no stage were we asked if we were enjoying our meal by staff or management.

The prawn cocktail was a joke, frozen, watery, flavorless shrimp (not prawns) with a watery seafood sauce, served on a lettuce leaf. $10.

The fried rice was just average and what you would expect from any restaurant of this type.

One positive was the Mongolian lamb, it was above average, however, we parted with over $70 for this very poor experience.

As a footnote the restaurant is also going through a renovation, so at present it looks more like a building site than a restaurant.

This menu appears very hit and miss, however, half of our food was terrible.

Just be warned, when you order, if it is terrible, you will be charged!

WARNING !! Don’t do it “ Don’t end your holiday with food poisoning where are the Chop sticks ? This is worst than a bad truck stop cafe . Fried rice was cold served up flattened out, on an old cheap scuffed dinner plate . I was in shock !!!!! Lumps of Ham were Greyish obviously cold too Flambé Pork dish was not edible !! Chewy and a flavour that was something else not Asian 🤷🏻braised steak and veggie tasteless .Same clear gravy as King prawn dish . Which was meant to be ginger . No ginger flavour . Overall worst slop I’ve had at a Chinese restaurant whats with the Sunshine Coast have you never had real chinese from a restaurant that cooks fresh with flavour ? . Ate at this restaurant last night 7/12/22. Food was very bland and overpriced. Dim sims like rubber and hard to cut into pieces. Sent them back. King prawns had no taste to them, chewy and you could tell they were frozen and thawed quickly if at all, perhaps just checked into wok. Honey chicken was good but some pieces were very tough. Chinese style steak and sauce like no other we have had before. Chunks of steak fried and in a strong soy sauce. Yuk! Only veggies in fishers were cauliflower and broccoli. Nothing else Rice very bland too, no ‘fried’ flavour to it. Shame as it was the first time going back for a long time and took our daughter and grandson. Service not great either.
