Almost brand new we ventured to TokyoTaco because we were familiar with the one in Newtown. When we arrived we weren’t familiar with the menu. A confident female employee realised this and jumped in to explain a few things she also helped with portion sizes. We landed to getting tacos. Had to try a taco- miso salmon- and it didn’t disappoint. We also ordered corn, tostada braised beef, BBQ corn ribs, chips for the little one and a custom plain rice for the kiddo. There was a minor error at til. Which was corrected when drawn to attention before check out. They were similarly named items to be fair. And they were learning. All employees were lovely and you could tell there was an excitement in the air since its opening night was tonight. Yum.yum yum. Didn’t disappoint.

If you’re a fan of both Mexican and Japanese food, @ brings the best of both worlds together with their delicious fusion dishes. We kicked things off with the tostadas, which were a real highlight. Crispy bases topped with fresh tuna sashimi, with watermelon adding a refreshing, flavourful twist. Next up were their signature tacos, and these were so good! Served in fried tempura nori shells and packed with flavourful fillings, each bite was incredible. My favourite was definitely the baked salmon. We also shared the slow-braised beef nachosu. The chips were super crispy and loaded with generous, tasty toppings, this one definitely has a spicy kick! Such a fun spot with creative food. I would recommend checking it out.

I wanted to try the food of this restaurant because look interesting so I got a chicken taco bowl with extra umami mayo after my work to take away. I’m very disappointed, very expensive ($19,50) for the size of the food, they gave me a big bowl but the food was less than half of the container. Also, the food was not very tasty, just the umami mayo and crispy nori were good.
