The hotel meets standards and it’s a nice “homey” feel, great location and walking distance to everything. This is our 2nd time staying and booking through booking.com, we enjoyed our first stay and wanted to come back so I had this reservation booked for 3 months. 2 weeks before our stay we decided to extend an extra night and upgrade our room (through booking.com). On the day of check in I received a text message to complete the COVID check in online, the check in date that was stated was the originally booked date so I sent a quick message to confirm that we’re still arriving today!! I then got a phone call from the manager saying that I’ve made heaps of changes to my booking and the room we booked is unavailable for the 3 nights. I said that this is untrue as I made 2 changes at the same time 2 weeks ago but apparently I also added in an extra adult too which was going to cost more? So, our room was degraded (lower than what was originally booked 3 months ago) as there was nothing else available. I called back saying that after investigating, I was concerned about the size of the room judging by the photos on their website, I was reassured that this was a nice room and decent in size and the best room on the level. Not one bit. It’s very squishy for 2 adults for 3 nights who just want to spend the weekend relaxing and not out adventuring, I don’t even have a bedside table (I know, first world problems). The manager offered us a late check out but I told her that has already been organised. Definitely need some improvement in management and how the rooms are booked through 3rd party sites. I’ve noticed that this hotel has now been removed off booking.com. Read moreStayed here in April 2025 with my husband and 3 children. The location was great and staff were kind enough, but the room was not at all clean when we arrived. We found 2 cockroaches on two separate nights on my daughters bottom bunk bed (alive) which was appalling really. I found several dirty, greasy dishes when my children went to use teaspoons to eat and cups, so we had to wash all dishes before using them ourselves. The carpets were not vacuumed properly and our toddler was picking things up and putting things in his mouth when we were bringing our suitcases inside. They left us minimal cleaning products - one tiny sachet of dishwashing liquid - no drying rack for dishes, one tiny bin bag - not even a dish cloth, just a hard scrubber. Not sure how they expect us to maintain any level of cleanliness when they don't provide cleaning products. Not that we were happy about having to do this anyway, considering the state of the place when we arrived. I emailed them advising them of our concerns but they never replied. The final straw for us was when they charged us a $50 cleaning fee after we left. There were definitely some food crumbs left behind by us - we have children and there wasn't a vacuum cleaner otherwise I'd have happily vacuumed. We had washed all dishes, taken the rubbish out, put all used towels in the washing machine, wiped benches - it was cleaner than when we arrived! Read moreThe resort is amazing however Sarah the resort manager lets this place down. She blamed booking.com for us not getting the two apartments we booked through this website. We booked 2 apartments but were told one room was booked and available. She had no other rooms available so we had to squash 3 adults and 2 teenagers in a small room. ( A couple, a sister and her 2 kids). It was extremely disappointing, I wanted to treat my sister and her kids from Melbourne. A rude and unaccomadating manager. It was clearly the resorts mistake and a clear lie that booking.com were responsible for this error. I'm sorry but a poor refund through booking.com, a bottle of cheap sparkling and a towel doesn't cut what we experienced. She simply didn't care and it showed on her face. She wanted a solution with no fuss...however cramming 5 people in a small room isn't a solution. My partner was embarrassed to stay in a room with only woman to share 1 bathroom. Her attitude ruined our stay. She needs to go. Reading other people's reviews makes me think this is a reoccurring issue, simply unacceptable management.
