Worst experience ever!!! Went in for a 30th Dinner, 15 people. We were told on arrival we could not order from the Menu and Banquet was the only option. We were not told this as a number of guests had dietary restrictions. When we insisted on 4 people ordering ala carte we were given a cold response and was rushed to order but was then told “The Kitchen staff will not be happy about this”. When the food arrived we discreetly called over the Manager to point out a hair inside the Kofte, he then said “The hair is on the dip so its not ours, its from you guys” he then brushed his hand at us and walked off - I have brown hair and my Sister beside be eating them has blonde hair - the hair was black and short. One guest ordered Lamb cutlets, was then notified when all the other guests food was served that they had run out of cutlets and there were no other options. Because of this, that guest did not eat as everyone had already received their meals and was pointless to wait another hour as this is how long it took for mains to arrive. We also had ordered the Batengen for a vegetarian guest, as per the menu it comes with a walnut-chilli relish, we received standard tomato sauce for a meat pie. When we voiced to the waiter that this is Not Batengen he said it was given because there was a 20 minute wait on the actual dish relish. The waiter then walked off and 30 minutes later I called him back saying we still hadn’t received it. When it finally arrived we were given so much attitude and no apologies at all - the eggplant obviously was cold, oily and soggy by now and inedible. The Banquet that the remaining guests paid for was not worthy of the price, there was not enough meat per person, not enough sides per person, everyone was going halves in items just to get a taste, definitely unacceptable for a $75pp pricetag. To top it all off they did a fancy sparkler show and happy birthday desert and song to all the other tables except ours. We watched on in anticipation for our 30th Birthday boys sparkler and cake with a song but alas never happened so we sung for him. The atmosphere was dull, no live music or even inhouse music to set a vibe. The waiters and management were unwelcoming and had sour looks on their faces all night. Myself and ALL our guests will never return to this place, it isn’t worth the 20 circulation of the streets due to ZERO parking...
Read moreCame to this restaurant with a few friends to celebrate a bucks night. I am local and have heard from friends about the quality of the food so I had some high expectations of the place.
The atmosphere was very relaxed, we ordered two Argilehs, one with an apple head and the other with an orange head. The price was reasonable and flavours were very enjoyable.
Our banquet came out in a timely manner, first we had a couple of mezzes complete with baba ganoush, hummus, fried cauliflower, sambousek, pickles, kibbeh (raw and cooked versions), fattoush and tabouli. The mezzes were very filling, and my friends especially found the kibbeh delicious. Personally I thought the fattoush and the baba ganoush was incredible.
The skewers came out shortly with chicken, kafta and lamb skewers. They were absolutely delicious! The lamb was nice and juicy, the chicken had a nice lemon aftertaste that was complimented well with the garlic sauce and the kafta had a very appetising blend of herbs in it.
We had dessert and I ordered the Knafeh with a peppermint tea. The Knafeh was served differently than I am used to but was a delectable bowl of rich creaminess. My friends had the gelato and the nutella sambousek. They were all very satisfied with the meal.
The waiter was very competent, he only came at times we needed to order. He gave us space to enjoy the moment together and also took a picture for our group when dinner had concluded.
The location is quite picturesque with the new walking bridge and the river beside the restaurant. There is ample space for parking and it is situated in a quiet corner of parramatta. We particularly enjoyed the relaxed, calmness of the place.
If you are in the area and want a place that sells very flavoursome Lebanese food, I recommend...
Read moreWe celebrated a 90th birthday and enjoyed a sumptuous banquet!! Whatever you do, don't pig out on the first half a dozen courses!! Save some tummy space for the main course!!! Nuts, pickles, olives, pita bread, all kinds of dips, Fatoush, and who knows what all the other stuff was - curry puffs, falafels, Kaftas, bbq cauliflower with a creamy sauce!!! Then the skewers came!! Chicken, lamb mince and huge cubes of beef that just melted in your mouth. Thank God they gave us a rest between the other courses and this one!!! Then after that came beautiful fruit salad and then we had the 90th birthday cake. I reckon they were about 120 people, the chairs were very comfortable, there was plenty of room it was a lovely air-conditioned room but don't sit under the air conditioner!!! There was a bit of noise intruding from the live restaurant music outside. They had a good sound system but tell the people to hold a microphone up to their mouth when they speak!!! The toilets are a long way away from their function room and you had to walk past all the shisha smokers!!! Make sure you get there early because the parking is pretty sparse... people parking on the grass across the road street parking was hard to come by as the night progressed. Apart from the excellent food the best part about this restaurant is that it is not in Main Street Parramatta!!! Definitely well worth a visit this is Parramatta is best...
