Great Spot for a Relaxed Dinner – Exceeded Expectations!

Had dinner at The Abbots Hotel recently and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The atmosphere is laid-back but welcoming – perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and everything came out quickly despite the place being fairly busy.

The menu had a solid variety – classic pub meals done right, with a few unexpected standouts. I had the [insert dish, e.g., “steak and chips” or “chicken schnitzel”], and it was cooked perfectly. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and great value for money. The sides were on point too – crunchy chips, fresh salad, and no skimping on sauces.

They’ve got a decent drinks selection, and the beer was icy cold – always a win. Bonus points for having a relaxed outdoor area if you want to enjoy the fresh air.

This was our local and we spent a lot on dinners, drinks and gambling. One evening recently, playing pokies, I reserved machine and went to the bathroom - had $60 in winnings. Came back and winnings were gone. Manager inferred it was another local and footage would be checked. Had to harrass staff for a resolution and eventually told by management: it's your fault cause you left the machine, should have had staff keep an eye on it, there's nothing we can do. Poor staff, what happens if a number of people need to pee at the same time? What happens if there's no staff around: do patrons pee on chairs? Nice place to have a drink, however, I ordered parmigiana (it didn't say on the menu that it had ham) and it came with ham. When asked nicely for it to be changed at the bar to Amanda, she said it is always served with ham in Australia suggesting that I should know and didn't bother to do anything about it. I was willing to pay for the new one but she didn't even care to ask and turned around to help someone else. The main problem is it is not always served w ham and even if it is it should clearly be mentioned on the menu. I was later on helped by Liz and she changed my food without questioning. Amanda's respond however was not acceptable and I wonder how she treats other people. I am not planning to eat...
