Lord Raglan Hotel — Restaurant in Sydney

Waited at least 45mins for a meal, no offer of information of any delay. Asked at the bar how long our food will be, advising them it was nearing an hour that we had been waiting. No apology, bar staff checked with kitchen and came back saying chef said it was literally 30 seconds away from being ready - still no apology. 10 mins later our food arrived. We were deservedly annoyed and were dismissive of waiter. Half way through our meal the manager came over under the guise of asking us how our food was, and not to apologise, but to accuse us of telling the bar staff to f@#k off (which we didn't, but we weren't polite either) and to advise us they had a zero tolerance for verbal abuse, we asked her what their policy was on exceptionally late food, she did not answer or apologise but said I was told you swore at one of my staff, I'm just checking. We asked if she was checking or deflecting the fact that their kitchen and bar staff had provided less than low rate service. The food was very average, but we were starving so we ate and left. As we left, as soon as we were out the door, the bar staff started shouting yeah go on good go! Which was decidedly immature and gutless. We were highly bemused. Such a bizarre experience. Re the food This is very bad for dining and takeaway meals I try to support local business where I can however every time I’ve ordered food from here it’s a massive disappointment Always cold and the order is always missing something…either a salad or gravy. The food is below standard and seems to be getting worse. When I called to say I wasn’t given my salad that was included with my dish I was hung up on. I called back and luckily had a very lovely polite girl named Daniela who was very sorry and wanted to rectify my issue and actually delivered the salad to my home herself as I was really not happy as on Friday night they had failed to supply the two gravies we had ordered so I’m not impressed by the lack of care they give to orders. Steve you need to know what is actually happening at your pubs as it’s appalling what your staff are doing and very damaging to your business moving forward. I can’t recommend your food as I always have a disappointing experience whenever we order it I hope you take this as constructive criticism as there is a real need for some decent pub grub...

This place was closed for ages. I was very happy to see that someone finally renovated the place and opened it (I think it was this year). The atmosphere in this pub is just great. I love the interior design. The bar is made out of old doors, the lights are stylish and not too bright which makes the big difference in terms of the atmosphere & coziness. I haven't tried the food yet but it is on my bucket list. The stuff they brought out looked pretty amazing to me and the menu sounded promising. What makes this pub special is the big range of craft beer that is on tap. It makes the pub visit special because you get to discover new flavours and brands. And if you like it, they have it as take-aways too. But keep the new rules in mind and get them before 10pm. The one thing I didn't like was the level of noise. It was very difficult to have a relaxed conversation with your mates due to the normal pub noise and the live music noise...
