I’ve been coming to Yen’s since 2013. When you dined in, you were always looked after by a mother and daughter. It was busy and sometimes you would need to wait 30min to get a table. I knew there was some sort of management change about 18 months ago but I still semi regularly came. Sadly over time the food and service just got worse and worse. Today was the last straw. My Pho was thin, salty and bland and as you can see in my photo the beef portion was pathetic. I brought up the beef portion size and I was told “beef is expensive and everyone received the same amount” Honestly don’t waste your money. This used to be a well respected establishment and if you look at a bunch of recent reviews many mention similar issues. What a shame.

Who says Pho isn’t for breakfast? A nice bowl of warm and hearty pho in a cold autumn morning it’s exactly what you need. The aroma and umami from the stock it’s better than coffee, and a good hangover cure too. For A$4 more, you could have Wagyu beef too, what a bargain! They have a raw or cooked beef option and the difference is serving the beef completely raw on the side vs serving the beef medium rare in the soup. I suggested to have cooked beef option since it was serve very medium rare so it won’t be over cooked and the problem with the raw beef option it’s that the bloods from the beef will contaminate the beautiful and clear broth (some people might like the gamy taste). Btw, great and friendly service for a small business.

Was craving a Bun bo hue but unfortunately they didn't have it on the menu. They do most of of the other popular viet dishes though in addition to a good selection of juices and smoothies. Settled with a classic pho which was decent and well priced. Broth was on the mild side but the serving was generous. The beef and noodles tasted fresh and soup was served piping hot. For $17 the beef pho was a good deal for it's portion. It's a very no frills kind of placed to get a meal. Seemed like only one lady was running the show but she was friendly and attentive. They do pork rolls to, grabbed a roast pork roll to go. Would come again to try other dishes & drinks especially with their price points.

Wow, absolutely incredible pho! My partner and I were craving something warm and refreshing, and this place delivered beyond expectations. We ordered the crispy chicken and a fresh juice, but since it was close to closing time, they didn’t have all the ingredients on hand. Instead of informing us they couldn't make it due to lack of ingredients, the amazing front-of-house staff went out of their way to buy the ingredients so we could enjoy exactly what we ordered, exceptional service!

As we were finishing up, just five minutes before closing, another customer walked in wanting to dine in. Instead of saying, “Sorry, we’re closing,” they warmly invited him to take a seat and served him without hesitation.

It’s rare to see such genuine care for customers, and it really stood out to us. And the food?? Absolutely delicious!!! I can’t recommend this...

Terrible restaurant in Waterloo. We ordered crispy chicken with rice, fried wonton and chicken pho. Chicken came with cook’s hair. Wonton seems like it was leftover of yesterday’s if not day before yesterday. We decided not eat and leave restaurant. And went to pay bill. The lady at counter charged us $55. $12 higher than the menu price. When we went back to restaurant after 3-5 minutes to ask them about the price. They raised their voice saying they haven’t charged higher bill. We asked for breakdown of bill. Finally, they knew that they’re in trap, they returned our excess amount. They didn’t even apologise. What a horrible experience we had. Don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. And also be more careful while paying the bill. Ask for...
