Al Aseel Chatswood — Restaurant in Sydney

I got delivery, so am only guessing at atmosphere, but food and service are first rate.

Living in a Lebanese food desert full of many Chinese, Indian, Thai, etc. options, I missed the Lebanese food I used to eat in the Eastern Suburbs. Browsing options on uber eats in Christmas Day, I discovered Al Aseel. Two days later, I placed my first order.

I am non dairy and they were nice enough to get the chef by the phone and double check the dairy status of various options I was interested in. I ended up with Batata potatoes, Mansaf rice (which usually contains ghee but they did it without it for me) and fattoush salad. And wow, comfort food! It's all delicious and satisfying.

I found portion sizes good, and liked the extra inclusions of a slice of lemon to squeeze in the potatoes, Lebanese bread, and a couple small containers of pickles.

Can't wait to try some...

Delicious Lebanese food with a relaxed pace

It was my first time trying Lebanese food, and I must say I really enjoyed it! I went for the vegetarian options, which were flavorful and satisfying, while my friends tried the meat dishes and gave them high praise as well.

We arrived around 5:30 PM on a weekday and noticed there was only one chef and one staff member handling both the counter and table service. Around 6:30 PM, more kitchen staff and waitresses joined in. Service was a little slow at first, but we weren’t in a rush, so it didn’t bother us.

We were also told that the pace of dining in Australia tends to be more relaxed, so we embraced the easygoing vibe.
