I'm a qualified chef with over a decade of career in the hospitality industry. When the boss lady's rudeness wasn't enough whilst serving, their pathetic pizza drenched in oil, barely any cheese and completely burnt on the bottom topped it all up after I paid almost $20 for this awful treat I decided to give myself. Disgusting and utterly disappointing. Please make sure when you buy pizzas from here to check before eating so at least your are able to request a refund or replacement.

"Proper Fish and chips" The "fish" is unidentified.. but was basically a thin, grey species with wafer thin batter. The chips were crunchy french fries and the only connection to being "proper" was a thimble of malt vinegar in a vague nod to British fish n chips Not great... Over priced and poor quality. It looked like all ingredient were frozen and bought from Coles...I think they could try a lot harder. The beer was good and they had sport on screen.. they get a star 🌟.

Visited this place after checking out the Biennale Exhibition at White Bay Power Station. Love the atmosphere and the decor. Highly recommend the Beef and Guinness pie. It was delicious! Also best to make a reservation as most tables were reserved when we arrived and our only options were to sit outside (cold) or the inside tables with the high chairs. We chose outside initially but the cold winds drove us back inside.

This place is an institution. A hidden gem. Were it located elsewhere it would be jam packed and probably spoilt. It's always busy but rarely jammed. Great pint, very friendly staff and great well priced pub meals. The owner deserves all the spoils as he clearly puts in a lot of work to look after his staff and customers. Best pint of Guinness in Balmain bar none. Mussels on Good Friday were sensational.

A fabulous traditional pub. Set on a corner this heritage sandstone building is beautifully maintained. There are several inside and outside dining areas. The locals frequent it as do visitors to the White Bay Power station which is now an arts space. Food was great, sitting outside in the late afternoon was fabulous. Staff were friendly and the food very good.
