A wonderful evening of song and happiness led by Robert Green accompanied by Alexander Sussman , in his 'Isn't it Romantic ' tribute to the music of Lorenz Hart. The building itself is due to close and be demolished very soon, which is a real shame. The Genesian Theatre has entertained many people for over 60 years in this building. Thankfully, they will continue their performances in Rozelle soon. It's sad to see these old buildings disappear. Another piece of Sydney lost, but hopefully not forgotten.

Saw my first play here and it was amazing. Hadn’t heard much about this theatre so wasn’t sure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed my evening. Actors and actresses were great and the theatre itself has a lot of character!

An icon of Sydney theatre for 70 years. Sadly the last performance was this evening. The building has been sold and will be demolished. The theatre will be relocated.

Long been a big fan of theatre, and it's also long been a pleasure to enjoy local up-and-coming actors here at the Genesian Theatre. A small, quaint little theatre in the midst of the city, it's run mostly by volunteers but still maintains a casual yet professional atmosphere.

The actors there are always skilled and enthusiastic, and the productions are very well performed. It will be sad to see the company moving soon, but rest assured I will be following it wherever it ends up.

If you appreciate good theatre and local talent, you can do both for a very reasonable price here. Well-recommended if you ever have the opportunity, though you may have...

We don't live in Sydney anymore, but whenever we are in town, love to check out the show. It's not just excellent performances and enthralling story telling, but the whole atmosphere of yesteryear. It's a tiny place so please book to make sure you don't miss out- and mention if you are extra tall as the leg room was a bit tight for a taller friend we took one night and we had to shift to the front row. Just loved it. Not for unfriendly types, due to its size it is a more intimate intermission where you will mix and mingle with lots of friends and supporters of the company. Well done everyone, hope to be over for "A murder is announced"...

A wonderful Sydney icon - built as a church, used as a theatre since 1945. It's a small space where big things happen - the company puts on the best productions it can with its limited budget. Recommend the Sunday afternoon session - because life is too short to get the blues at the end of the weekend - right? Ticket prices are good value - the seats are a little cramped and the place is a bit dusty - but you feel like you are part of a growing movement that's bringing top quality theatre back to the...
