The Anzac Bridge serves as a significant tribute to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who served in various conflicts. Its design pays homage to the heritage of the ANZACs and symbolizes their bravery and sacrifice. The structure itself is a testament to engineering brilliance, with its towering pylons and distinctive cable-stayed design that gracefully spans across the beautiful waters of Sydney Harbour.

It is an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Beyond its visual appeal, the Anzac Bridge also offers a unique experience for pedestrians and cyclists. The dedicated walkway and cycle path provide a safe and enjoyable way to traverse the bridge while taking in the awe-inspiring views. It is an excellent opportunity to immerse oneself in the tranquility of the harbor and enjoy a leisurely stroll or bike ride.

Moreover, the bridge's accessibility and convenient transportation links make it easily reachable for visitors. Whether you choose to drive, catch a bus, or utilize other modes of public transport, reaching the Anzac Bridge is a breeze. The availability of nearby parking facilities ensures a hassle-free experience for those traveling by car.

I was also impressed by the efforts taken to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the bridge. The pedestrian walkway and surrounding areas were well-maintained, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the grandeur of the structure and its surroundings. The attention to detail in preserving the historical significance of the bridge is commendable.

Visiting the Anzac Bridge is more than just admiring its architectural beauty; it is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by the ANZACs and pay tribute to their legacy. The bridge stands as a poignant reminder of Australia's rich history and the courageous spirit of those who served.

The Anzac Bridge is an iconic suspension bridge located in Sydney, Australia. It spans across Johnstons Bay, connecting the suburbs of Pyrmont and Glebe to the central business district (CBD) of Sydney.

With a length of approximately 805 meters (2,641 feet), the Anzac Bridge stands tall as a prominent landmark on the Sydney skyline. It was officially opened to the public on December 3, 1995, replacing the old Glebe Island Bridge. The bridge's name pays tribute to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who served in various conflicts, particularly during World War I.

The design of the Anzac Bridge is distinctive and visually striking. It features two tall concrete pylons, each measuring 120 meters (394 feet) in height, which support the main suspension cables. The cables stretch diagonally from the top of the pylons to the road deck, forming an elegant "A" shape that represents the ANZAC acronym.

The road deck of the bridge accommodates eight traffic lanes, including two dedicated bus lanes and a shared pedestrian and cycling path. This provides an essential connection between the CBD and the western suburbs of Sydney, improving transportation and accessibility for both commuters and tourists.

The Anzac Bridge offers breathtaking panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, including the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, and the city skyline. It has become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike to capture memorable photographs and enjoy the scenic beauty of the harbor.

At night, the Anzac Bridge is illuminated with an impressive display of lights, enhancing its visual appeal. The lighting design highlights the bridge's architectural features, creating a captivating spectacle that can be admired from various vantage points along the harbor foreshore.

Overall, the Anzac Bridge is not only a vital transportation link in Sydney but also a significant architectural landmark that represents the city's rich history and serves as a symbol of remembrance for the ANZAC soldiers who made great sacrifices in...

Anzac Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in Sydney and a must-see if you enjoy impressive architecture. The design is stunning, especially with its tall cable stays that look beautiful both during the day and when lit up at night. The bridge connects Pyrmont and Glebe to the inner west, making it an important route for daily commuters. There are pedestrian and cycle paths, so you can walk or ride across while enjoying amazing views of the city skyline and the harbour. The atmosphere is even more meaningful because the bridge is named in honour of the ANZAC soldiers, and there is a memorial statue at one end. Overall, Anzac Bridge is not only a functional piece of infrastructure but also a powerful symbol of Sydney’s history and pride.”

I'm not sure where people are getting their lunch or cheeseburgers (I'm glancing at other reviews), but this is a bridge. It's pretty great for pedestrians and bikes, as it connects the inner west to Pyrmont. Before this bridge was built in 1998, the way out to the west was Parramatta Road, which as you can imagine, was slow. On the western, you'll see two soldiers on either side of the bridge. The one on the northern side is easier to see up close because of how the walkways work. The Eastern side has informational signs at the top of the pedestrian ramp. Great views from the Glebe foreshore!

Anzac Bridge is one of Sydney’s most striking landmarks, with its impressive cables and scenic views over the harbour. Whether driving across or walking along the pedestrian path, the views of the city skyline and Rozelle Bay are always a highlight. I’ve crossed this bridge countless times, and it never fails to impress—especially at sunrise or sunset when the city lights start to glow. It’s not just a vital connection between the Inner West and the city, but also a tribute to the Anzacs, adding meaning to its striking design. A true modern icon of Sydney!
