On Thursday 06th February I attended Bayti Parramatta with some friends to see singer Wael Mansour perform. We have wanted to go to Bayti since it opened and finally got to go on Thursday. WOW! WOW! WOW!. Was not disappointed and could not fault anything. Even though it was a Thursday night and had to go to work the next day, it was so worth it to be out on a weekday night. Singer Wael Mansour, don't have enough words to say what an amazing performance by Wael Mansour. The energy he delivered that night was electric. The songs he sang, atmosphere and vibe, it was GOLD. Very talented and brilliant entertainer. Now about the venue, loved the set up, loved how there were photos on the walls telling a story of how this establishment came to be. Loved how on the table there was an album/menu book that also had memorable photos of years of history and stories of the parents immigrating to Australia from Lebanon decades ago, started a family and built a catering business empire. The story also mentioned the father of the owners of Bayti, the late George Khouzame was awarded the Order of Australia medal for his contribution to the Australian-Lebanese community in NSW. What a remarkable achievement. As we were seated, the mezza's started being placed on our table. Plate after plate after plate of beautifully presented foods. Middle Eastern Lebanese dishes with a twist. WOW, they were so delicious. Then came the desserts, plate after plate after plate of dessert selections as well as fresh fruit, oh my goodness I can not describe how delicious they were. Unbelievable. I would like to give a shout out to the waitress Rasheeda. The service from her was outstandingly impeccable. As it was our first time at Bayti and somewhat unsure of what beverages to order Rasheeda confidently made recommendations that she thought we would like. Her constant checking on our table and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Just before it was time leave, we asked to speak to the owner(s) to express our gratitude for a magnificent evening. When introduced, i then realised noticing the 2 owners, Priscilla and Najee were working the floor throughout the evening providing service to tables. As a former restaurant owner and hospitality background myself, it was great and rewarding to see the owners of a business being present at the venue and being hands on throughout the function. Full respect to Najee and Priscilla. An unforgettable experience and must go to. Will definitely go back. Don't normally leave a very long review but I felt this is deserving of one. Hats off to Najee and...
Read moresorry I can’t reply back to your message as you’ve threatened me with legal action for posting an honest review xxx ps. I only came to bayti as it’s convenient to the hotel Upstairs. Have a great day
After posting my honest review I receive a call from the owner Priscilla at 11am on a Sunday morning, I missed the call and tried to call back but she didn’t answer. I then received this message, that I’m posting here for you all to see, she has done a terrible job of justifying their actions outlined in my post. My guests are free to leave their own reviews of the restaurant, we aren't children and I am incredibly insulted. Rather than taking feedback and trying to improve their service and quality of customer experience, she is threatening me with a legal team for leaving my honest feedback. Disgusting.
I booked this restaurant in advance for my sisters pre wedding dinner and had prepared and planned for a beautiful night. 3 days before my event I get a call from the owner Najee advising me that I was not able to place anything on the tables as it wouldn't suit their "corporate" clients - who would be sitting on other tables. I had small floral vases that I wanted to decorate with, so nothing large or obstructive. I was then called by the sister Prescilla reinforcing that there was absolutely no way I could and she offered to call my suppliers and cancel on my behalf - 3 days before my event. I was deeply offended, as I am capable of canceling my own order, but also at their lack of professionalism for not letting people know earlier about their strange rules. To make matters worse on the night we turn up and there was in fact another group with florals on and beside their tables. There appears to be double standards in play here, I'll never return. Food is average and they rush your meals, removing plates and cutlery while you may still be eating. Would never recommend this place, the owners need to rethink how they engage with people and the lasting negative impression they leave.
I had heard how rude and unprofessional they were but was shocked to experience...
Read moreHad a poor experience here. Booked dinner for myself and 2 friends. We are uni students and we had paid $350 including a deposit beforehand to celebrate finishing our exams. From the beginning we felt uncomfortable as the staff seemed not to take us seriously, maybe due to our age or maybe it was our lack of designer clothes (mind you we were still dressed smartly in formal clothes), even though we had already PAID a deposit. The starters were extremely basic, a collection of dishes you would not expect to pay for in a normal restaurant, somethings that would come free with the meal. Small plates of fatoush, hommous etc, good but as stated very basic and more of a side than a dish. When it came to the main course we ordered the lamb, which was cooked great and tasted amazing. A blonde waitress then approached the table, and said that another table had cancelled the last course for some reason and that we could have an extra main, the fish, since it was already cooked. We thanked her, the fish was average, and was laid on a whole plate of tahini. If you were to add a sauce or a dip, maybe have it on the side instead of burying the fish in it. We were already pretty full from our own meal so we didn’t really eat too much of the fish. When the blonde waitress came to clear the table she saw the fish and said “ there’s a lot of the fish left” we replied “haha yes we were already a little stuffed for our own main” she replied very sharply and without even looking at us, “what a waste, I should’ve never given it to you” we were all shocked at how rude she was. The rest of our service was then rushed, and that blonde waitress even waited at the end for us to finish the desert. I do not ever intend to return here. There is a clear clientele they expect, and will make you feel uncomfortable if your not the type. They seemed to accommodate more to people coming in with designer hoodies and hats then us. Very...
