Kumiho opens at 12pm and closes at 3pm. They again open at 4pm until 8.30pm. The restaurant is not fancy and doesn't have a good appeal. The ordering process is pretty straight forward. Every table has an Ipad with the menu. You just need to select an item and order. You can only order one item at a time, which is a bummer. 3 of us went there at 12pm for an early lunch. We ordered Rankon chips and Vege steamed dumplings for entrees, Vege lover box and Chicken Paiten Ramen for main course.
Rankon chips were amazing! Those were the best Rankon chips I have ever eaten. Vege steamed dumplings were good too. It was steamed just right with good filling.
Vege lover box was okay. The box had 2 spring rolls with spicy Mayo (which I found a bit strange), 2 okra tempura, a bowl of rice, stir fry Tofu, sprouts, leafy salad and seaweed salad. It also comes with miso soup (contains fish stock, so we didn't get it). Both tempura and spring roll were not that oily and tasted good. However, Stir fry Tofu had too much oil and tasted okay. Seaweed salad was nice. I won't be ordering this again.
My friend who ordered Chicken ramen saud that it was tasty and filling.
Overall, there aren't many vegetarian options for main course and I would visit this place only for entrees.

Read moreKumiho impressed us with their digital menus and modern fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine.
We dined at lunchtime during the weekend and ordered 🐟 Assorted Nigiri (12.80) 🍗 fried chicken set(15.80) 🍥 creamy pork and udon curry(16.00) 🥤 Bubble tea ($6) I was curious to try the Creamy Pork and Udon Curry because it's served with a swirl of cream on top which is stirred into the curry, by the diner, before eating.
This hearty bowl surpassed my expectations with pork so tender that it melts in your mouth, and lots of slurpy udon noodles to soak up the creamy curry sauce.
The Fried Chicken Set has a little bit of everything. Tender juicy chicken wrapped in golden crumbs, a kewpie dipping sauce, assortment of salads, rice and a small bowl of warm miso soup.
The Nigiri is something I always order in a Japanese restaurant - Kumiho's version was fresh and served with the expected condiments of tamari, pickled ginger and wasabi.
We sipped on strawberry and matcha bubble teas, these are very sweet but also very yummy.
Prices are reasonable for the quality of food. We found paid parking nearby in the Justice Precinct Carpark ($3 per hour)
We experienced gracious service and thank Kumiho Restaurant for inviting us to...
Read moreAs much as I liked the food here please be careful booking the 7-Course Meal here, I ate here months ago and was not impressed.
On the website after you place a booking they don't tell you the bank details first as they described it in their description, the first thing they will ask you in your emails is to choose what you want to eat on the day, there is no freedom of choice to choose what you would like to eat from a jpg with your 7-Course Meals as they want to save their budget.
Their system to book is extremely outdated as you can only communicate through emails they don't read properly and seems weird to make you choose what you eat a day beforehand, what if you change your mind on the day, its a restaurant for crying out loud.
Staff was extremely rude to me on the day and didn't tell me about the 10% surcharge they have for the day I booked or on the website so I was shocked to pay more than I expected. Additionally we had the Wagyu Katsu and they gave us extremely thin cuts of beef again cutting their budget but I saw on TikTok they gave an influencer much bigger pieces so I felt undervalued eating there.
I did love the food but hated everything to get to have the food, please fix your system and staff for...
