Nautanki has replaced Neelam Indian which I had frequented for almost 20 years. This was my first visit to the new restaurant and the modern and vibrant interior is very inviting. Ordered the lunch thali plate (meat) $19.90. Despite being the first people in the restaurant at 12pm it took almost 25 minutes to be served the thali plates which is mind boggling given the little effort they are to assemble. The curries were served luke warm. The Lamb Rogan Josh consisted of 2 cubes of lamb, one was total gristle that I had to spit out, the second piece I was able to cut a small piece of meat off the fat and it was tough and chewy - I honestly thought it was goat meat. Butter chicken was tasty as was the dahl. Portion sizes were decent. Wasnt that impressed by the plastic trays. The side salad consisted of brown, wilted lettuce. The high volume of reviews and highly rated reviews by people with only 1 past review for this relatively new restaurant is a bit sus. Not sure if an incentive is provided for positive reviews, but the food today was lacking and disappointing.

I recently organised an after-work party at Nautanki Sala Indian Restaurant, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we’ve ever had as a team. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting — perfect for a relaxed yet celebratory evening. The food was simply outstanding — every dish was bursting with authentic Indian flavours, beautifully presented, and catered to everyone’s preferences. My colleagues couldn’t stop raving about the variety and quality — from the starters to the desserts, everything was top-notch. A special thank you to Jay, the owner, who personally ensured everything ran smoothly. His hospitality was exceptional. He made us feel genuinely welcome and went out of his way to make sure we were happy with every detail. I would highly recommend Nautanki Sala to anyone looking to host an event or just enjoy an incredible Indian meal. It exceeded all our expectations, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

If you haven’t been to Natanki Sala yet, you’re missing out! This place offers a unique menu that’s not just packed with flavors but is also Instagram-worthy! chat and entree is so good . Their Nimbu Pani is zesty and pairs perfectly with their dishes. But the real stars of the show are their desserts. The “Mango Rasmalai Kulfi” and “Paan Kulfi” are absolute must-have and beautifully presented . The ambiance is vibrant and lively, making it a perfect spot for everything from casual hangouts to special occasions. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food with a fun, theatrical vibe.
