Okay, I’m American and live in San Francisco, so I’m familiar with seafood and the many ways you can serve it up. Bennie, mayonnaise is not your friend. It doesn’t have to be in everything. We stayed a week here in Circular Quay and ate three meals a day for a total of 21 in all. Bennie’s is not the best on this pier. I was so excited to get the lobster/shrimp roll. The menu described it coming with butter, herbs and lemon. A fresh sandwich it was not. Our table also ordered pasta and salad. I got a small side salad with vinaigrette so I picked the lobster and shrimp off the sandwich and ate it with lettuce. But guess what was in the bottom of the mixed greens? It was some type of mayo based something. I know this is a terrible review, but understand it’s due to the mayonnaise filled sandwich. Why didn’t I send it back? I couldn’t get the waitress. When she did walk up I was taking the pictures of the uneaten sandwich that I posted with this review. She clearly saw I didn’t eat it. She was worried about clearing the table to get another seating for their busy Monday night. The pasta was fine but needed a little salt but that can be added. The desserts are great but they are the same exact desserts you can get from all the restaurants in the area who clearly get them from the same bakery. My favorite is lemon meringue tart that I ate in its entirety to get the mayonnaise taste out of my mouth. My drink was a gin basil smash and it was excellent. I could have had a pitcher of it. The atmosphere is great as long as you get a table on the edge near the low railing that overlooks the water but that is a chance you take with all the dining areas. I apologize for the rude review but it is a truthful narrative of our Monday dinner. We are American and are easily happy with deep fried, barbecued sauced fast food and it doesn’t take much to make us happy. But being from San Francisco who like Circular Quay is seafood heavy, I know a good lobster roll and this one was a disaster. My advice to you the customer is not to get it. My advice to the chef is to take off the mayonnaise and put the greens on the side and not drench them at the bottom of the toasted roll topped with mayo then piled with hot lobster. Pictures are worth a...

I had the pleasure of dining at Bennie’s Bistro recently, and it was an exceptional experience. I opted for the fish and chips and the prawn and lobster pasta, and both dishes were superb.
The fish and chips were perfectly executed, with a light, crispy batter that encased tender, flaky fish. The chips were thick-cut and crispy, and the meal was accompanied by a zesty tartar sauce that complemented the dish beautifully. It was a classic done to perfection.
The prawn and lobster pasta was equally impressive. The pasta was cooked al dente, enveloped in a rich, creamy sauce that highlighted the delicate flavors of the prawns and lobster. The seafood was fresh and generous, making each bite a delight. The presentation was elegant, adding a touch of sophistication to the already outstanding dish.
Service at Bennie’s Bistro was top-notch—attentive and knowledgeable, with staff who were genuinely passionate about their menu. The bistro’s ambiance was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal.
Overall, Bennie’s Bistro delivers an exceptional dining experience with delicious, well-crafted dishes and excellent service. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking top-quality seafood and...

This place is nostalgia for many generations of locals who’ve grown up coming here. Thankfully after many years, the coffee was still made to perfection :)
Thanks to the barista she does beautiful latte art and never butchers the coffee no matter how busy they get.
She has good experience and has mastered the art of being a skilled barista, great at her job.
We will consider this cafe for take away coffee only in our Best Coffee in Sydney CBD feature.
Dining in is a work in progress as it’s a high tourist area, they may never see the same customer twice so they don’t have the familiarity with regulars.
Hence the hostess’s (with dark short hair) attitude problem probably who hasn’t grasp the concept of good customer or potential customer experience.
And thinks other women are a threat to her territory. Seriously, you’re in hospitality, please cut it out miss.
Other than that everyone else work very efficiently and I can tell the manager is a good team leader, he has the patience to train many new people who come on travel/after school work experience.
The owners need to hire people compatible to work with him as he has what it takes to be of service to customers.
Well done team minus that inexperienced person I was...
