I really enjoyed my movie going experience when I visited this little cinema. I booked online, which was easy. When I arrived, I spoke to the lovely attendant, who had my tickets ready and waiting. I was able to have a beer while watching the movie! Love that. Comfortable seats and an almost empty theatre. Very nice. Popcorn was nice and fresh too.

United Cinemas Opera Quays is a brilliant upmarket and boutique cinemas that I love going too. You have anything from the big house to the art house films, including those harder to find (yet legendary) Australian films. Big fan, the food is great too and love going there. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and love their work! Top spot too.

Good little cinema located on the strip between the ferries and the opera house hidden away . Needs a bit of a fix up since being the old Deny Theatre . Comfy seats . Fr iui endly staff . Not a low ticket price but fair probably for the location.

Had a great time at the cinema until the cinema ceiling collapsed onto the audience (literally).

About 5 minutes into The Batman (4.15pm Saturday the 5th) , I noticed some water dripping from the ceiling. Thought nothing of it and assumed this was a leaking aircon. Turns out it was water build up in the ceiling from the recent rain. 5 more minutes into the movie about a 2 metre by 2 metre large part of the ceiling fell from the roof and smashed into the chairs below. Fortunately there was nobody in the row / seats underneath or they would have been seriously injured. Apparently nobody working in the cinema was aware of this, it was only until someone went outside and alerted them to the accident that they came in and stoped the movie. Now I’m not expert in customer service, but the first thing I would have done if I was a staff member was come and asked if anybody had been hurt. They didn’t. Whilst they refunded our tickets, they wouldn’t refund any popcorn, snacks or drinks purchased by customers in the session (despite no longer having any need for them) . A free ticket to the next session of Batman or another movie would have been a nice goodwill gesture and would have probably given me little reason to come on here and publicly complain 😉.

But the 10 minutes I managed to see of the movie seemed like it was...

Horrible experience. Smelt like a Chinese grocery store, seats wobbly and had a damp feel to them, movie started late and nobody was there to open the door despite the signs telling us to wait. Just walked in in the end. And possibly the worst part was the old stake popcorn that cost an arm and a leg. The owner walked in about 5 minutes later with a friend and got the fresh popcorn while he chatted about how much money he makes. Would highly discourage anybody from going there! The classic look on the outside is not reflective of the inside of the cinema or the staff working there. PLEASE DONT GO HERE. Support someone else who cares for...

Just left this cinema (cinema 1) half way through the movie as it was absolutely freezing in there. We had asked if something could be done about the air con with no success. Cinema no.1 is so run down with thread bare carpet, stained seats and what looks like water damage on the walls. Not only that, it was filthy, with so much old popcorn and dust on the floor. What on earth happened to this place? This was our favourite cinema when it was the Dendy. Will never go there again. I don't know if the other cinemas are as bad but I'm not going to take the chance. Awful...
