Bellissimo- Hi All - for an absolute blissful Italian - Australian eating experience in the middle of Winter - when we should all be there (Italy) in person - go no further or ‘as I do’ take a trek to Bottega Sydney in Manly - absolutely fantastic - transport me to Italy - summer food experience - sooooo freshhh and such a flavour sensation - I’ve stuck to the Paninis thus far - primarily because I’m taking them away - however the menu looks great - breakfast eggs in particular - and the quality of ingredients is/are taste sensations amongst themselves - my favourite is the Bottega - clean fresh and fabulous - although I’m working my way through the menu - we need more (not just Bondi - soon to open ) on the East side - as long as the true Italian service and chatter remains. I initially wondered about the cost - but believe me when I say - in true Italian style - these are jammed packed with ingredients and are a meal - if not two in themselves - 2 people could easily share for lunch IMO - Bravo - and all the very best

Sadly not a good first experience. Ordered a caprese panini but received a cold caprese baguette 🥖. Returned to ask if ok to grill and they reluctantly did but said I should have ordered a focaccia instead. All 3 gaslit me saying they’re Italian and looking at me like I was crazy and deluded for thinking a panini is grilled in a panini press, saying “no, not in Italy”. I questioned every panini I’ve ever eaten, beautifully squashed flat ciabatta with warm mozzarella inside. I googled it later to check I’m not crazy and literally every website describes a traditional panini as grilled in a panini press. They were so unfriendly it left a sour taste.

The Bottega restaurant is a little slice of Italy in the center of Manly oozing with authentic piazza atmosphere. Dine in or take away, either is a great option. The food is simple, fresh, authentic Italian and absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The menu provides plenty of variety from light snacks to hearty meals and is all mouthwatering, particularly the antipasto boards. The owners, Francesco and Lou, are very friendly and always welcoming. I would highly recommend dropping in to enjoy a relaxing Al Fresco dining experience with a delicious meal and a refreshing beverage with family or friends.

I have tried many cafes and restaurants around Manly, but none beat Bottega. It is my go-to at least once a week for a fresh and tasty lunch… maybe a few more times than once…

Look, for the number of times I’ve been there I probably should have tried everything on the menu by now. I haven’t because I’ve found sandwich perfection in the namesake Bottega on Panini (baguette) - the perfect balance of all the best Italian flavours. 🤤

It feels decedent with the freshly shaved prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, Parmesan, and balsamic vinegar, but refreshing with the bursts of freshness from the cherry tomatoes and crisp rocket. Just try it. You are welcome 😉

I have enjoyed the soup which has been on the menu the past few weeks. The minestrone was 👌 Will be getting more when it’s back in rotation.

The staff are all so friendly and service is very quick given the number of people that line up each day to eat....

It’s a shame that the food is really good, because unfortunately the service and timeliness is not. I got my sandwich within 5 minutes, and my friend who ordered 30 seconds after me waited about another 10 minutes as we watched one of the employees mucking around and eating food with other Italian customers, and it was also clear the individual making sandwiches was waiting for multiple orders then making them all at once. I then said something and the man gave us what seemed to be some other persons sandwich, as 15 minutes after we sat down to eat we hear her name finally being yelled out for her sandwich. So, if I didn’t speak up she would’ve gotten her sandwich about 25 minutes after me. It’s super disappointing because the food and the vibe of the place is great, but they really need to be more on top of it and less lazy, especially on a busy...
