Yesterday I went in to grab a few pieces of bread (photo attached) and headed to the counter. The cashier, a young girl wearing a cap and mask, told me the total was $46.70. She didn’t give me a receipt or ask if I needed one, which seemed a bit odd, but I didn’t think much of it at the time. After I paid, I started wondering how a few pieces of bread could cost over $40. So, I asked her for the receipt to check. Instead of just printing it for me, she suddenly started rummaging through the bag where my bread was, like she was searching for something. At first, I thought she might’ve put the receipt in the bag without me noticing. After a while, she stopped and asked me: “You bought two pork floss buns, right?” I said yes, and she replied: “I charged you for two extra. I’ll refund you in cash.” It hit me then—she already knew what she did, which is why she didn’t print the receipt in the first place. She wasn’t “checking” anything; she was just trying to cover her tracks. I decided not to make a big scene since she looked young, but I did take the $8.40 cash refund she offered. She even wrote “Only 2, refund $8.4” on the receipt, which made it obvious she knew she’d overcharged me. Later, I told my friend about this, and my friend said I was too soft. They think this might be a common tactic to overcharge customers who don’t ask for receipts. So, I’m putting this out there: If you shop at Hurstville Bread Top, make sure you double-check the total and always ask for a receipt.

Bought a Triple Chocolate Mousse cake for my birthday and it was so delicious. One of the best, if not the best, mousse cake I've had. It was a little expensive for the size of the cake, but for a special occasion it was worth buying. Everyone who had a slice of the cake all said the cake was delicious and enjoyed eating it. The guy who served me at the counter added in birthday utensils and candles for free, which I thought was a nice touch.

Generic Chinese Bakery. The pineapple bun are always good, with a slight crunch from the exterior and soft bouncy interior. The cake selections were not extensive. I prefer the cakes from here because it's not too sweet. I ordered the mango crepe cake, and it was okay. Personally, I found it to have too much cream, and the crepe was slightly dry. I'm not sure whether it was fresh or from the day before.

The thing that made me so annoyed is the service and noticing their communication between customers like me and their fellow staff. The tray and clam utensil to use for picking up the bread, dessert savery, I have notice most customers hardly use the trays and utensils but grab the food eg bread by their HANDS what worse, one person, opens the plastic slightly which had a bread bun inside and sniff and put it back,, yet again with their HANDS!. What's the point of having those trays and utensils when some people avoid using them. I mentioned it to one of the Breadtop staff twice, I don't think she understands or just egnoring me ,other then telling me the amount total for the Pineapple bread, her other staff just walks pass behind her egnoring what was going on. Suggest print out and mark "Please use tray and utensils etc and place so people noticing it I tryed calling their head office. What kind of service. As the number or anyone dose not exists let alone one have no idea what I'm saying and hangs up. Overall Communication: POOR I would have given 1 half of star. Food: Delicious Service: POOR I would give...

Breadtop Huntsville is the worst breadtop I have ever been to. When I used to live in Ryde, breadtop was a staple. Best food at good price. The hurrsville has cold food no matter the time you attend. It tastes so bad yet the only reason I continue to go there is I get light breakfast for under 10 bucks. That is the only reason I have been repeated torturing myself going here. I have tried the one in townhall as well. It's out of this world. Plz breadtop Hurstville kindly stop ruining...
