Bungalow Bar & Balcony — Restaurant in Sydney

I took my partner to the Loft last night for her birthday and I woke up this morning with an overwhelming urge to share how great the experience was. I’m not one to normally write reviews but felt compelled to let people know how good this place is. The ambience and vibe was slick, well appointed with modern furniture and layout, great lighting and bar to look at and obviously the view over the water was spectacular. The main reason I am writing this is because of one of the functions staff Yara. A few of my partners friends cancelled last minute which always sucks, I still wanted to make her night special and Yara was amazing and really went all out to create a special memory for us. If you haven’t been here, do yourself a favour and go. If you have a function, speak with Yara and I’m sure she will create a special memory for you like she did for us. Had a birthday party we went too. All started good. Orduves were average cause birthday girl was vegan. The mushroom meat things were alright. Having a right old time. Being 41 myself and wife's 38 we don't get out alot. Kids no fam etc Anyway it hit about 12am and wife had her fair share. I agree she was drunk beyond an exceptable level the manager on tried to pull my obviously drunk wife aside to talk. The issue wasn't with me as I wasn't too drunk first thing I told him was it's my wife. And he was rude etc about the issue. I said I'd just purchased 2 beers and can refund he blew it out saying it's not the barmaids problem etc and was In general a bit of a power tripper about it. Refund and move on wasn't a problem. An offer of refunding my 2ifes fresh beer and some water for her while I finished mine would have been the adult choice to have made rather than a 21yr old power tripping manager. I went here for a friend’s 18th Birthday and it was lovely up until 10:30. I must say the bar staff and food was very good, however the security staff, not so much. I was approached in the bathroom by a security guard as I was trying to wash my hands, she asked me questions about how much I have had to drink, which was really not that much in comparison to those around me. While I was in the bathroom, someone else was throwing up in one of the stalls and the security guard asked if it was me to which I said no I have not had that much to drink. After this interaction and I had explained to her that I was not over-intoxicated, she demanded I leave, despite there being people much more visibly drunk and throwing up around me. It was obvious that this security guard just decided to pick on me which Im sure you can understand is incredibly frustrating as I was there to celebrate a friend’s birthday and this was very difficult to do from outside...
