Here's my honest review: ✨Location✨ I think the location is ok. It's close to the water and there's some outdoor seating with a view ✨Price✨ I think it's a little pricey but not super expensive like a steak house ✨Ambiance✨ I think the place is elegant and has lots of decoration. ✨Drinks✨ On the pricier side but I did not have one unfortunately ✨Recommendation✨ I would not go here again. I had an awful experience with customer service and that's enough for me to never want to revisit. The truffle mashed potatoes were amazing and so I would be open to trying the food again maybe at a different location. ✨Food✨ I went in for a burger but got the kangaroo steak instead. I will say kangaroo is not for me. It's a relatively chewy meat and I prefer more tender cuts. I would have rather to ribeye but at least it was an experience I was able to check off my list. ✨Customer Service✨ This is why I scored them so low. The customer service was absolutely awful. When I first got there the waitress came up to me and I had been sitting for less than 2 seconds so I didn't know what I wanted. She didn't come and bring me water for over 5 minutes. She checked on the table next to me three times while I waited for her to come over. When she finally returned I told her I wanted the crocodile burger and she explains to me they were out. I was very sad and she recommended the kangaroo. I asked if that was a burger, she said no and then it was just offered silence. I feel like as a good waitress your job is to then recommend things in line with what your customer wants or at least care to ask. I felt super uncomfortable so I just went with the kangaroo even though I had my heart set on a burger that night. I was also sitting by myself and it's just customary that if someone is dining alone you should be mindful of that. Sitting and waiting while you're driving alone is extra awful. And we can all agree that dining alone isn't always the most comfortable experience but having horrible customer service makes it way worse. Not once did my waitress come check on me while I was eating so I felt so horrible that I got it to go box and took my food back to eat it in my hotel. She didn't even come back for the check so I ended up leaving cash on the table and walking out. Literally worst customer service I've ever experienced and I know this isn't the Aussie way because I've had nothing but great experiences...
Read moreI am not a picky eater but this was my far the worst restaurant I’ve ever been too. Was so upsetting to say as I was so keen to try their Moroccan lamb salad. Firstly the service was ok the staff did walk past a lot, was a busy night, but didn’t offer us water to start or any drinks to start. When we finally decided what to order we had to almost catch someone’s attention in order to be served. We placed our empty jug of water, no one was observant enough to refill ( as restaurant etiquette) and we finally got a hold of a staff they took our jug and never returned it when we asked for a refill. Now onto food. My salad was very bland and the dresssing was only lemon, like where is the flavour? They put some whipped cheese when it didn’t even go with the vibe, feta could have been way better and the only nice thing about it was the Moroccan lamb which has flavour but was unfortunately burnt on some pieces. Salad did not work together. further more, their steak and chips were the most decent thing but was very mid with not much flavour. The chips however were so over cooked and not a single spec of salt, the chips were unfortunately very horrible. Finally, the “olive bread” accompanied by bone marrow if u call specs of olive on bland dry toast olive bread then maybe this is misleading and not good advertisement….Overall, I had such high expectations for this place, especially being on the water of the harbour, was so disappointed with the experience I had especially as I’m not a picky eater. I hope my suggestions and criticism can be taken into account, to bring more positive...
Read moreOverall the worst experience I’ve had in the whole Australia. If 0 stars were an option I would’ve put 0.
We waited 10-15 mins at the door where tons of servants walked past us, even though we had a reservation for 7pm. We found a servant and told him that we have a reservation. A few minutes after another servant gets us a table downstairs where theres tons of people were sitting compared to the 1st floor where the entrance is.
The restaurant is located at the most touristy spot which isn’t a bad thing in particular, but we felt that in many ways: the loudest music and bass, busy servants, long wait time for getting just water and cutlery at the table. The tables were sticky even though the servants “cleaned them”.
We came to taste kangaroo meat, and they were sold out unfortunately. That can happen. We ordered something else. But there should be more than enough kangaroo meat in their stock, since this place is known for people to try kangaroo meat.
It took them 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES for our food to NEVER arrive. We wasted 1,5 hour in the loudest ever restaurant for nothing (i used my earplugs even). The table around us had already gotten their food even though they came +30 minutes after us. Our servant came up and asked if we had gotten our food, which we hadn’t. And then 20 minutes after and no food to be seen we walked up to the register and wanted to pay for the drinks.
The only positive thing: The guy (maybe a manager) at the register said we didn’t have to pay for the drinks because of the...
