Located at 3 Lime Street, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 (On the King Street Wharf in Barangaroo) Edit - I have been back because I wanted to see what it was like since the revamp and I loved it. Such an improvement. The food is still delicious and a big difference in the service from staff. A lot more friendly and welcoming this time. Was very happy so have given an extra star for service and the food and the atmosphere. 😊👍 I have been here a couple of times now. The last time was a bit of a disappointment. I did have a great time, I was with a few friends and it was nice to catch up. I just felt like we were being pushed out the door because we were not ordering main meals. We were having appetisers and drinks. The waitress was not overly friendly and just kept asking if we wanted anything else. We just wanted to sit and catch up. It took away from the pleasure of being out. It was a weekend and very crowded but we were paying customers. We weren’t just taking up room and not purchasing anything. Otherwise, the other times I have been here have been very enjoyable. Food is always delicious 😋 and the staff are ordinarily friendly and attentive. Just this lad time has stopped me from going back. This is why I am only giving it 3 stars. It’s located right on King Street Wharf and is very Eas to get to by Ferry ⛴️, train 🚊 and buses 🚌 aren’t far away either. It has beautiful views over the water, looking across towards the Maritime Museum. It’s a short stroll up to the casino and in the opposite direction you have Cockle Bay Wharf. It really is in a stunning location. If you’re going on a weekend, expect it to be busy and noisy, you can’t get around that. It’s extremely popular....
Read moreI would be giving Bungalow 8 a 0 ⭐ if possible! They are an absolute scam! A group of 15 of us went out on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday event, each of us paid the $20 entry fee and proceeded to the bar and each bought a minimum of 2 drinks which at cheapest was $30 each. Once we all bought drink from the bar one of the party members went to the bathroom and was accused to be "smoking" in the bathroom which in fact they weren't and has never nor can ever due to medical conditions. As a result of this false accusation the security kicked them out and I received a message they were kicked out. After questioning why they were removed the venue manager said "I don't have to give you any reason" then asking which security guard were making these accusations they could not answer , but claimed it was recorded. Being recorded means they were claiming they have cameras in the toilet which is highly illegal. After fairly asking these questions due to them being highly false accusations the venue manager said "I'm now refusing all of you entry" and asking why, he responded "because I want to". Very unhappy as they scammed us of our money and kicked out of the venue for false and unreasonable accusations Entry fee total:$300 Drinks minimum: $450 TOTAL OF: $750. they scammed off us. Very safe to say I'll be never returning and advising family and friends of our experience to avoid the venue for an plans, especially large groups as they are just money...
Read moreTheir so-called "smart casual" dress code is quite disappointing.
Firstly, the dress code requires a collar shirt when wearing shorts, which seems like an unnecessary and outdated rule. In this day and age, comfort should be the new dress code, and it's absurd to enforce such a strict and arbitrary policy. It's understandable that the bar wants to maintain a certain level of decorum, but this rule seems more like a way to exclude people based on their appearance rather than promote a respectful environment.
Moreover, the fact that the dress code allows T-shirts and pants is confusing and contradictory. If the bar wants to maintain a certain level of formality, then it should apply to all types of clothing, not just shorts. Additionally, many T-shirts can look just as casual and unprofessional as some shorts, so it seems unfair to allow one but not the other.
Overall, the dress code seems to be more of a hindrance than anything else. Customers should be allowed to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, as long as it's respectful and doesn't cause any disturbance. It's important for bars and restaurants to be inclusive and welcoming to all, regardless of their appearance. Therefore, I think you should reconsider your dress code policy and adopt a more lenient and...
