16/12/24: I’m sending the same message I ALWAYS will: if you LOVE properly created rissole sandwiches with gravy then you MUST get them here whenever you’re in Sydney (no one does them like these Magnificent People do, and rissole sandwiches with gravy are FAR more important than fruit & vegetables - they should be known as “Food Group # 6” because they are THAT ESSENTIAL). If you get to start your day with rissole sandwiches with gravy from here, then you KNOW you ARE going to have an EXCELLENT day 🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼✅✅✅🙏🙏🙏🌈🌈🌈😘😘😘🎉🎉🎉 xxx

18/10/24: Forgot to add: they have 600mls of plain full cream milk (yaaaay!). You must have this with rissole sandwiches for breakfast (even if you’re a “coffee junky like me” - fresh plain milk with rissole sandwiches is soooooo good for your stomach - DO IT!!!) 😘

18/10/24: Same as always Babes! Get your rissole sandwiches with gravy & onions HERE. Did you know you can take one home, tare it up by hand into a bowl, pour shredded cheese over it, add even more gravy & S&P, then nuke for 180 seconds? DO IT if you genuinely love yourself (& therefore love rissole sandwiches) 🥰

14/10/24: Yet again I got my FAVOURITE rissole & gravy & onions & S&P sandwich on squishy white bread with lots of butter. At 6:50am! Obviously bought another for dinner (I have no intention of cooking tonight - why should I? I already know I have great food to come home to) 😘😘😘👏🏼👍🏼✅🥰🙏🙏🙏 xxx

Rissole sandwiches with gravy. Get them HERE! Update: 6 months later (it’s felt like a year!) 20/9/24 I today got my “FAVOURITE rissole sandwich in the world!” (I’m serious) & yet again it was absolute JOY 🥰. Gravy & onions on a SUPERB rissole in a “soft & squishy & yummy sandwich”. This is “mandatory food for me” at least once a week. If you appreciate rissole sandwiches, this is definitely your place 🤩😘

I’m from 3 generations of dairy farmers, so I KNOW how hard it is to get good ones in Sydney. Rissole sandwiches with gravy. Get them HERE! They are EXQUISITE (especially when you’re about to jump on a long trip). Coffee is great too, but the rissole sandwiches with gravy are “best in Sydney”...

Amazing. I’m always baffled by take away places taking so long to make a coffee or the “grab and go” fast food, not terribly fast.

I was at Central Station around 5:30am and in need of a coffee. I contemplated giving it a miss as I only had about 10mins to wait for my train. I decided to give it a go.

I ran downstairs to CJs and was met with a rather large line up. I figured this was not going to work. The last take away coffee from another Kiosk at the station took about 10mins without half as many people. I noticed though that these guys were pumping out the coffee and the toasted sandwiches were already made ready to go.

Time was ticking fast so I decided to take the chance. The worst that could happen was that I’d lose my $5 and have to run for the train without a coffee.

This is where it gets good. I ordered coffee, and within a blink of an eye the barista started making coffee. Was it mine? I’m not sure but the signs were good. I thought I’d take the chance and go the ham and cheese toastie. Instant. It was in my hand. Cheese melted and all.

Not a minute had passed and they were calling for coffees. I stood back, thinking this can’t possibly mine. The lady behind the counter signalled to me. It was. Unbelievable!

So, I made my way to platform 9. Coffee and taostie in hand with about 7 mins to go.

So how was it? Look, I’ve had better toasties but this was good. The cheese was melted, the outside was buttered (a toastie must) and it was seasoned. Probs a 7/10.

The coffee? No oat milk, so I went the Skim route. Was also pretty good. No warm milk here, a good, full bodied coffee. 7/10.

10/10 for service and...

CJ's offers an astonishing range of ready ( or almost ready ) to serve food, including such favourites as sandwiches, burgers, and focaccia with a variety of fillings.

Service is fast and friendly, at busy times of the day up to five staff members are scurrying about in a form of well organised chaos. They always have their minds on the job, I can't remember an instance when I had to repeat my order, or was given the wrong order. They are very customer focused.

They provide great coffee as well, made quickly and efficiently. A member of staff is usually to be seen operating the coffee machine, cranking out coffee after coffee. If you are a regular customer, they remember how you take your coffee, which is nice.

They do a great job of catering for a vast variety of customers : transport workers, office staff, regular commuters, and elderly travellers who appear to be bewildered by the large variety of food on offer. If you have a few minutes to spare, and want something nice to eat,...

What a conscientious food shop!! I couldn't believe my eyes when looking at the coffee prices $3.5 for small coffee. Many places have pumped up the prices already (average is $5) and normally 2 sizes to choose. But CJ still offers 3 sizes. Some shop the medium size is CJ small size. The coffee taste good. I thought at this busy location right outaide the central station exit, would be expensive. the food are reasonable also no surcharge on sunday. I had a takeaway coffee bought from 2 streets quiter, surcharge and not taste good. Sitting area outside the shop under cover. Also the coffee meun is made like the old train live timetable at the stations which are now replaced by digital TV display

I was highly impressed with the service I received, and the coffee I got, from CJ's Central! I visited the restaurant at ~8:30 this morning (Saturday in the Easter long weekend, 2025). I was served immediately (the staff to customers ratio was great), the prices are cheap (particularly for coffees; photos of the menu are to come) and my coffee tasted fantastic (and made me feel more awake, as coffee is intended to!). I ordered a takeaway piccolo with soy milk (photo in my review). I highly recommend CJ's Central if you're looking to get a coffee or quick meal on your way from Central Station, particularly if you're using the Eddy Ave exit.

I've been going to CJ's Central for many years and it's a takeaway cafe that I've fallen in love with. I think I must have eaten everything off the menu and they have great staff, top coffee quality and the food prices are very reasonable. I love everything they do and I try and get there at least once a fortnight when I'm in town. Great place, love their work!
