Corridor Newtown — Restaurant in Sydney

I like this place a lot - however at 11pm on a Friday night, 1 hour from closing, the staff did not allow us in. First off it was there is no tables available - then I spied a table free. Then they told me it was because they were about to call last drinks - but I could see online/QR I could still order. I flat out asked them whether it was actually because they didn’t want to give us a table - and they agreed that it was. We weren’t drunk. The only thing I can think of was the staff wanted to pack up early, and didn’t want to have another party of people - that’s simply lazy, and a good way to lose money and customers. Went there last week - August 14th - 8.30pm - to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was just four of us in a very quiet wednesday night. Everything was ok, nice place, music was nice and decoration was good too, until my friend ordered one beer but FIRST asked the guy over the counter if he could pay that in coins, the bartender said it was ok but then started throwing the coins on the floor angry at my friend (paying the beer in coins!) As far as I am concern coins are also MONEY! and he said it would be ok first...that was extremely rude and we were shocked to see what he was doing. We tried to have a drink last night at 7pm for 2 people, staff was not friendly, said they could seat us on the blacony and we had to be out by 8 due to other bookings which was fine as we had dinner reservations however we were placed in the most uncomfortable squishy spot in the middle of a walk way and in the middle of someone elses current booking, the waitress said we could sit here as the booking 'didnt seem to be using it' we couldn't place a drink order through the app, it just wasnt going through, and the balcony was unbearable due to the cigarette smoke. I have severe allergies and i feel this should have mentioned this to us before seating us, we ended up walking out. Just not a great experience. Wont be reccomending...
