Exceptional Dining Experience at Delhi 'O' Delhi
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Delhi 'O' Delhi, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we were greeted by Mr. Anoop, the service was exceptional. Anoop was not only helpful and informative but also had a cheerful demeanor that made us feel warm and welcome.
The efficiency of the service was impressive. Our orders were taken promptly, and the food arrived in a timely manner without compromising its quality. Speaking of the food, let me start by raving about the starters we ordered - samosas and lamb chops.
The samosas were simply delightful. The crunchy pastry exterior provided the perfect contrast to the delicate and flavorful filling. The tamarind sauce served on the side complemented the dish beautifully, enhancing the overall taste.
As for the lamb chops, I can confidently say they were the best-marinaded chops I have ever tasted. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the meat was incredibly tender. It was evident that the lamb had been marinated for an extended period, allowing it to absorb all the wonderful flavors before being barbecued to perfection.
Moving on to the main course, we ordered the lamb korma and the creamy fish, accompanied by fragrant basmati rice and garlic naan. The lamb korma was a treat to the taste buds. The mildly spicy gravy was skillfully made and complemented the tender lamb pieces beautifully. Each bite was bursting with flavor, a true delight.
Now, let me tell you about the creamy fish. This dish was an absolute standout. The curry was delicate and creamy, and the fish was cooked to perfection. It added a unique and delightful twist to our table, leaving us craving for more.
Overall, our dining experience at Delhi 'O' Delhi was nothing short of excellent. The combination of exceptional service, delectable food, and the pleasant ambiance left a lasting impression on us. I cannot wait to return and indulge in their culinary delights once again. Delhi 'O' Delhi truly deserves all the praise...
Read moreWe have been coming to DelhiODelhi for many years on regular basis. The food has always been impressive and faultless. We were amazed that consistently, each time, we could rate every dish 5/5 each time. I would always bring either my mother or some friends with us who were also impressed with your food.
Our last visit in the beginning of October, however was a quite different. We invited our friends from overseas to have some awesome experience with Indian food and a great evening, but unfortunately, we got very disappointed and a bit embarrassed.
We ordered 3 dishes and some sides, with lassi. One was duck curry, the other was lamb curry the third one was fish curry. All three were below average, speaking politely.
Both, the lamb and duck meat was very dry. The duck was actually so overcooked that we couldn’t figure out if it was overcooked beef or duck. On top of that the sauces (curries) were not impressive. The usual full flavours were not there. Quite bland and unexciting. The fish (barramundi) was swimming in a soup, very thin liquid and not really a curry that we are so accustomed to. It even looked like soup and didn’t look good. The Peshwari naan (something that I always order for myself) was very disappointing. I barely recognized it from previous times.
The only thing which was good was mango lassi, but of course it is very hard to screw this one up.
I am not sure if they have a new chef or the management changed, but something went seriously wrong that night. I also wonder if whatever changes they made in this restaurant are permanent or if this was a one big mishap on that night.
I emailed this positive criticism privately to the restaurant a week ago, hoping to avoid criticising them publicly. However, I didn't get any response, no apology, no explanation.
Hence I am making it public.
We feel that going back there is too risky to spoil our evening with...
