My family and I have been going to this restaurant since it was open in dixon house food court, We quickly became regulars because of the AMAZING food and service, and this restaurant became a significant part of my childhood. after dixon house food court closed down and so did the restaurant, we were devastated. Considering how much the whole family loves the food and the always amazing service, we were so happy to discover their new restaurant in newtown!! Today we went back for the first time since dixon house and it brought back so many fond memories. The food was absolutely delicious like always, I’m constantly trying new restaurants all over sydney and I’ve never found anything as good as this place. While waiting for the food, the delicious aroma from the kitchen fills the restaurant and makes you even hungrier. The salt and pepper tofu/prawns are the best i’ve ever had, the batter is SO flavourful, perfectly crispy and they’re generous on toppings. The pork and chive dumplings were extremely satisfying and filled the craving. They were fresh, crispy on one side and SUPER juicy. The sizzling dishes are a staple here with a very wide variety of choices. We got the sizzling chicken with garlic sauce and it did not disappoint! Last but not least, The service is TOP TIER. the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and have not changed since their restaurant opened. If you’re looking for a great, authentic restaurant, this is the place for you!

This is the second Wed night in a row we have ordered the same food and as usual they are delicious. The dinning environment is very friendly and relax which we like very much. However last Wed night (24th July 2024) we were sitting a table away from two young women who weren't happy with what they have ordered and had some argument with the owner and staff of the restaurant. I read with disbelief about their inaccurate review (Jessica Liu review) on this occasion and felt compelled to call out them. None of what she had written actually happened while we were there! We did not see any man with a threatening knife nor was the staff being racist! It's unfortunate to see social media review is being used to air their grievances when they are not happy with the food.

FOOD TAKES AGES. we sat there for at least 30mins waiting patiently but for some reason everyone else who came after us got their food but us. found it weird so we asked the the malaysian (?) man and he was terrible, his attitude and tone was so condescending and unprofessional, he made it seem as if we didn’t wait at all until we showed him how long our car has been charging for and he very unwillingly asked the kitchen to cook it up. he seemed as if prioritising all his caucasian regular customers over us and left ours to the last minute. portions seem alright initially, but once u start digging in, you notice it’s all layered with bean sprouts and vegetables at the bottom instead of meat. we got the mongolian beef and chicken and dumplings. service is overall fine, minimal communication, the small chinese lady was really nice to us as we used to visit regularly but ever since that male staff started working we stopped as he is very evidently a rude person and obviously believes in white supremacy despite being asian himself. attached a photo of that male staff

I recently dined here and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The staff were rude and seemed disinterested in providing good service. The service was painfully slow, leaving me waiting for quite some time. The servings were disappointingly small for the steep prices charged. To add insult to injury, the restaurant exhibited poor behavior towards Asians, which was both shocking and unacceptable. Strangely, they seemed to show preferential treatment to Caucasian customers, which further exacerbated the discriminatory atmosphere. While the food was passable, it didn't justify the exorbitant prices. I've had much better meals elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. Additionally, it was astonishing that they ran out of noodles early in the evening, a staple item in any Chinese restaurant. Overall, my experience was deeply unsatisfactory. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience.

Very disappointed, I ask for the 6 fried dumpling for 6.80 $ and they start to talk in them languages, and tell me it’s not possible it’s only 10 dumpling not 6, so I tell them the add at the front and keep going talking in them language. So I went out to take a picture of the add and when I come back and saw him the add he say « mistake » like very cold and walk at the back of the kitchen. Mhhh OKKKK lol. And the lady was still keep going talking to the guy in another language ! Not appreciate at ALL ! You should take off your add at the front if customer can not order what’s they said. They should give me the 6 dumplings like I saw, just commercial geste but I reckon they don’t know how to manage Cheers

2.8 star. I don’t understand the current 4.8 rating. Didn’t even get table water firstly. The actual food was a bit smaller than the photo on the menu, which felt a bit deceptive (see photo). For a $23.80 dish, we’d usually expect more quantity. All the cutlery was upside down so people can touch the side of the chopsticks where people’s mouth touches (see photo). I saw the cook having a cigarette in his hand in the restaurant. The lady who took the order almost had no English and didn’t understand my question regarding the menu (my accent is intelligible for most people). The sweet and sour pork was okay but there was very little meat in it. I wouldn’t go back.
