The Bank was always my first port of call for a refreshing Pimms jug and some share plates on a hot summers day. This week they launched their new menu… and two new cocktail jugs! Hoorah! The menu was great, we ordered pretty much all of the share plates. Our favourite was a cross between the calamari and the tomato and goat cheese dish. My tip is to get the flatbread if you are ordering the tomatoes to mop up the dressing. Being dairy-allergic we loved the ‘df’ symbols on the menu and the fact they gave brand names in their cheese so I knew if my allergen was present. The service was 10/10 and the atmosphere was buzzing but intimate. Our favourite waitress (I think her name is Elentra, with the pink hair) being there was an added bonus. With such a great dairy-free selection in their menu, I was hoping for a dairy-free dessert option. I’m sure they will do one soon, for another excuse for a visit!

Was stopped at the front by a over zealous security guard whilsthe was checking young people for ID. I asked why he wouldn't let me in. He said just wait.i aske "for what".? He giggled. I asked "im 47 areyou asking for my ID" he didnt reply so.i walked in. Very silly stuff as i have worked as a security operative for 16 years. We ordereda striploin steak. I googled it to see what type of steak it was. Google claims its tender like a rib eye. The steak came and it was like boot leather. Salad had more salt than vegetables. Mind you there was a strip of sinue so large it was about one quarterthe size of the steak. Absolute rubbish place to eat at if youre trying to be healthy. Please see attached photo

A friend and myself ordered food at around 7pm on 25/1/2025. The place was at about 75% capacity so wasn’t too busy. It took around 20 minutes for both our drinks to be brought over. When the food arrived, both our orders (steak and lamb) were dangerously undercooked, so we sent them back. When they were brought out again, the kitchen gave us a complimentary steak on the house. The food that we ordered was overall tasty, however the complimentary wasn’t evenly cooked, being med-med well on one side and borderline rare on the other. Attached is a photo of the complimentary steak

It was my first time visiting this place, Venue (upstairs). I had been treated by extremely rude, Unprofessional and no manners Bartenders on March 4th. It was a paid venue that I was attending. I was buying drinks for my friends throughout the night. Some of my mates, I haven't seen them for years. I was quite enjoying my moments with my mates, then this happened. One time, I offered a drink to one of my mates, so we went to the bar and ordered drinks. The bartender who served me was taking my orders and at the same time whispering to his colleague next to him,l who has a beard, that guy put the water bottle in front of me straight away and acted like I am drunk, I need to drink water which I did not. According to his behaviour, I realised that he had misjudged me. So, I said to him, what is that for? He ignored me and walked away. So, I waited for him until he finished serving others, and I said to him, "What's the reason that you gave me water instead of my drink?"He completely ignored my question, and instead of giving me a reasonable answer, he raised his voice, " Do you want me to kick you out?"So, I said, "I'm not drunk, that's why I'm asking you now, what's is the reason you gave me water for?"I asked him third times. He then kept raising his voice and telling the same thing, "Do you want me to kick you out?". I was so shocked by his rudeness. I question in my mind what kind of place is this? Then, the female bartender who was wearing a black nose ring entered our scene and asked him. As soon as he told her, she switched her behaviours towards me and was getting rude as well. So, I pulled myself back as I didn't want to ruin my good night by keeping insisting them.

My points for this review are;

You are in the hospitality industry, and you should hire employees who have trained properly, who are professional and who have great mannerisms.

NSW Liquor Act 2007, ( Section 5) states how to judge whether a person is intoxicated, You have unreasonable doubt of me. I did not associate with any of these conditions. I was not intoxicated at all. Perhaps these two male and female bartenders need more training and communication skills.

Your customer is the one who brings your business success, I am not telling you to worship customers but should have some respect and learn to communicate.

Customers shouldn't be scared or stressed out over your rudeness or your behaviours. You are not their boss or display unreasonable authority over nonsense.

As a pub/bar you have the right to refuse to serve drinks to a patron who you think is intoxicated, it doesn't mean you can misuse the law by being ignorant, bullying, discriminating or unreasonable judgments towards the patron.

I am a decent customer, and I value professionalism and mannerism. On top of that, I expect decent service if I happen to visit some places like yours.

Not everyone who has a good time in a good venue is Intoxicated. You don't jump to the conclusion easily.

After all, this is what I observed about your hospitality. No values or respect toward...

At first I thought this would be a great bar that I would visit again in the future as it was very spacious not crowded and not super noisy. I also liked how you could order from the table. I ordered Mt first drinks and was hoping to order a double vodka lemonade as that is my go to drink however there was no option online to order a double. That was annoying but I could deal with it for the convince of being to able from my table. My friend ordered some chips and then about 15 mins later I order some pita bread with garlic sauce. The chips were pretty good and between the 3 of us ran out fast so I ordered another bowl. At this stage my pita bread still hadn't come. About 30 mins after ordering the pita bread the 2nd bowl of chips came, at this point I tried to tell the waitress that I was still waiting on the pita bread but she walked off before I could say anything. We started to eat the 2nd bowl of chips when about 5 mins later the same waitress came back and said "Did you order chips?" As she reached to take the bowl from our table. I replied yes and then she replied "no you didn't" quite rudely. I said uh yes we did and I can show you the receipt on my phone and while you mention it i'm still waiting on some pita bread. She continued to reply with a rude attitude "pita bread is a side and you can't order a side without a main or it doesn't come through on our system" at this point she put our chips back down and then went to sort out the pita bread. I would like to point out that firstly her attitude was horrid and totally unnecessary and secondly if pita bread doesn't come up on your system unless you order a main then you shouldn't make it possible to order that way on the app or have some sort of disclaimer. I get a lot of anxiety going out to new places particularly bars and the way the staff treat their customers makes that anxiety seem justified. Looking at other reviews this is not a new issue and if you don't want to be hassled by the waitstaff or security then save yourself some stress and go...

My second time visit there when a friend insisted me saying that their manager has changed … This time I was thrown out for questioning the security guy when he was trying to throw him out … this place leaves no stone unturned to make you feel little but those security guys just behave like small time goons…my friends started sending me message telling me that I did nothing wrong… I knew that but I wonder if this place targets coloured persons only … never seen a white guy getting thrown out even if that person is creating more disturbance…

I just hope no one has to go through the experience I had. I don’t recall having been to Bank hotel before this visit and it will be the last one. This was after a very long time that I cried and weeped a lot. Long story short… I was refused drinks and thrown out of the bar for offering a girl help whose car had been broken just in front of the bar for hours. The girl was panicking for getting too many horns when it was not her fault at all. I offered her all kind of help, water and food. I was clearly not intoxicated as I was having only apple cider and bubbly along with lot of water. I knew what I was doing. The lady who claimed to be a manager really had some serious psychological issues, I could see she was bully, rude and carried not empathy for the customers. Eventually I was thrown out of the bar when one of my mate started shouting at them though I tried to stop my mate. I have never seen this cold behaviour by any staff ever. Extremely disappointed. I really feel that the staff was very racist as I am a person of colour. I am looking forward to take a legal action against the Bank Hotel. I will just make sure my helping nature is not changed by this heart...
