Different Drummer was observed years ago it seemed to have an interesting look from the outside with the red lighting creeping out through the windows into Glebe Pt Rd it spelt here's a place to take a look at. Going past it, on the bus into the city via Glebe Pt road over the years the bus stop stops near the place next to a fruit shop on the corner of St Johns Rd my curiosity finally got the better of me when it was offered on Groupon so go see ... Settling in amongst the red lights, the Barman mixing drinks in a large pyrex beaker and pouring them into glass tankards over ice they looked rather appealing to quaf, stirring with elongated spoons like mixing drugs at the Chemist .The drinks are what you'd expect for prices except for the Cocktail specials eg happy hour which come in at $24 two for one deal which is good but only during the week aparantly when its not so busy. The bar snacks...The corn chip entree very tasty but not enough corn chips .The Tacos are also good they are the soft variety but they don't have enough in them for a meal if your hungry. The sweet potatoe wedges with sour cream and chilli sauce was good. They were busy at the time with a party and influx of people so the service was a bit distracted which is understandable but the bar staff were all smiling and happy and friendly and said good bye when I left .The place has a good vibe and probably goes off well with music going on which wasn't happening at the time .As you may see also and probably sit near various colourful inhabitants of the area while you drink Glebe seems to attract then like Newtown :-) Cheers and...

We had an open bar tab that was easily adjustable and closed when necessary, nice food, BUT when it came to cutting the cake we were given TWO ALREADY CUT CAKES! They had SWITCHED UP THE CAKES! I had purchased two $100 cakes, and those cakes were given to someone else that night, and i had received their half eaten cakes. The management of the place refused to compensate or do anything about but say "WE DON'T HAVE A CAKE FEE SO IF THIS HAPPENS ITS YOUR FAULT" no its not our fault... we bring the cake into your premise and require it to be refrigerated so it doesn't spoil by the time its eaten, when its time to cut we ask for it back and we are given someone else's cake... that is not my fault that is you and your teams fault. I was extremely dissapointed, it was a really lovely place but for that to have happened and not to be compensated or given anything or a sorry is disappointing. i myself manage a cafe and would not have done that to someone as it just wrecked the whole night. It could of been a...
Read moreHave come here for over ten years. Recently came in and we ordered 3 dirty martinis. We mentioned one should be regular dirty and one should be very dirty. All three drinks were brown (something I have never seen in a dirty martini), warm, and so salty they were impossible to drink. I spoke to the bartender about mine and he said that 'I must not have heard the order' - a ridiculous and untrue statement as I was standing next to my boyfriend who ordered it. And that we had asked for two VERY dirty and one EXTREMELY dirty and that we got what we got. Having worked in many cocktail bars myself I would never a) make a cocktail that tasted this bad (either he didn't know how to make a martini or he didn't taste it?!) b) never respond like this to a complaint about a $27 cocktail c) never serve a warm martini, we had to add ice to it at our table. For a total of $91 for a round of drinks this is disappointing to say the least from this old local... Maybe it was only this one staff member but it was a bad attitude paired with an...
