Let me introduce you guys to a newly opened Nepalese restaurant in Hurstville. My God, I cannot make a huge comment on this style of food as it is my 2nd time having it but damn was this place pretty fire.đ„đ„
đFalcha - 1/165 Forest Rd, Hurstville NSW 2220 đ€ ~$25 pp đ€4/5 stars âïžâïžâïžâïž Choila Set đ„ 5/5
Man was this dish an absolute banger!!!đŻđŻ From the explosive flavour of the choila chicken mixed with the tomato chutneys plethora of flavours. This dish came all together with its furandana(puffed rice) which provided the ultimate texture for the meal itself. This dish was reminiscent of Nasi Lemak for myself of my Singaporean background but completely different at the same time. A definite try!
Pork Momo with Soup đ„ 5/5
This dish was an immense surprise for myself as growing up in a Chinese household and background my expectations for dumplings is insanely high. I was sceptical as my previous experience with momo was not great but this place was absolutely phenomonal. Serving pork filled momo in a tomato based soup is a game changer. The flavours all came together like a dance on my tongue, I will definitely re-order this next time.
Mango Lassi đ§(5/5)
THICCCCCđ, CREAMY đ„and best of all a massive slap in the face of mango đ„. This was probably the best mango lassi I have ever had. I would critique it though, serving it with a paper straw was its down side as after the first couple of sips I just gave up on the straw. đService 3/5
As friendly as the staff were and fantastic they were at recommending different types of dishes. It took them about 3 minutes to acknowledge and seat us despite us actively making an effort to get a table. Another small critique was the serving time for the food, there was at times with extensive wait between the food.
Overall, food quality was top tier but the wait time was a small dent in the other parts of the business. I will definitely come back to try the other menu items as the first experience was...

To our dismay, the menus were sticky and covered in stains as if the customers wiped their mouths with it after eating. Whilst we were flicking through, two different waiters politely checked up on us and asked if we would like to come in. One of the waiters was incredibly amiable and helped us understand the Nepalese dishes and what each comprises of. From then on, the charming, attentive service continued to warm us up towards the restaurant as much as the food did. Seated in a roomy, cozy setting, we ordered goat Khana set, buffalo and lamb Jhaneko Dekuwa set. All diners beware, the food can be very spicy! We failed to heed the warnings of our considerate waiters that the heat levels would be quite high. As someone who's not suited to chili, it definitely packed a punch especially the peanut sadheko and pickled radish. The alu achaar helped with taming the monstrous spice, both the sadheko and alu achaar having a great, crunchy texture. I found the pickled radishes too salty and the goat could be more tender if cooked longer. Ignoring the ubiquitous chilis, everything was seasoned well and each bite was intriguing. The generous amount of lamb was to die for, the buffalo and goat taking me on a flavour journey with its chewy, thick cuts. I found the lentil daal delicious just by itself or with rice and the goat curry. When we asked about the ingredients of the daal, the waiter showed a great deal of knowledge behind the dishes and cooking process, listening closely to our comments. He even offered us ice water to quench our flaming lips as spice rookies. The hospitality is unmatched and the food opened up new, piquant worlds for us. I would absolutely risk my weak chili tolerance if it means treating my taste buds to heartwarming...
Read moreThis place was one of my favourites nepalese eateries in Hurstville area until today. No doubt, they delivered good food most of the time to me and my wife. Having a strict diet requirement, i need to order my vegetarian meal without onion and garlic , no shallots too. I always used to confirm if doing that was possible as being a chef myself, i do understand that it is not always possible to keep up with individual diet requirements, but mine was neither adding anything special nor any other difficult job and they always said they could do that.
And today, with the exact same food order i used to order all the time, my dish ( Mustangey aalu ) came with the mayonnaise first( i am a vegan and have always mentioned it) and, second time i was surprised, they sent the potatoes from exact same plate that was sent back just a few seconds ago. And to my surprise this time, there were shallots in it. I tried to draw the waitstaff's attention and told her about the presence of shallots in my food, which she said to be coriander ( only a noob in the kitchen can't differentiate between coriander and shallot) . Would have thought it as a general common kitchen mistake if they had accepted the mistake on their end, rather, so unprofessionally they reiterated that the greens were coriander and the innocent waitstaff turned black and blue as she knew the truth. and i could clearly hear the kitchen crew rather blaming me and wishing me to be grateful as they thought they did a terrific favour by doing my dish. Seriously? After being here for months, this is my last visit here. Being dodgy in the kitchen is not acceptable and what to say about lack of general kitchen morals...
