Fresko Gelato & Waffle House — Restaurant in Sydney

It was a terrible experience. This week my partner, his best friend and I traveled round 50 min from the northern beaches to try these "great" Waffles as per the good reviews on Google, we were super excited since it's got quite good reviews (not sure how accurate they are...) and when we got there we had to ask a lady that was sitting down if the place was open since there was not interested to welcome us, we ordered few waffles and a iced chocolate (which we never got since she forgot to make it or just couldn't be bothered...) we were the only ones in the shop the WHOLE time! When she was making the waffles I could see how sloppy they were, she even said to us that she was going to put an extra waffle on top of my husband's waffle as she didn't like the end result but that she was going to charge us $4 extra for that waffle (I found that comment offensive since we didn't ordered any extras or paying for her mistakes...) she even suggested me to share the Waffle with my husband and that she was going to make another plain waffle and just put few Oreos on top which I said NO since I wanted the waffles I ordered from the beginning.

When I finally got my waffle and put it on one of the small tables they have, my husband took his foot off one of the table legs since the table was very unstable and my waffle almost fell on the floor but I was lucky enough to grab it on the air.

in regards to the taste of the Gelato, it wasn't outstanding, pretty average to be completely honest and the waffles were tasteless and the presentation was pretty sloppy for a $14 product.

Absolutely love this place. Last was here when it was “Pagoto”. Came here in the evenings with my parents and brother. Service was always the best, it felt so nice to know that walking in, you’d suddenly be a part of a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, wherein one could have friendly banter with the people behind the glass. The interior is very appealing; it’s amazing what you can do with such little relative space. The flavours...need I even go into them? I’ve been to many an ice cream/gelato place, and eaten ice cream/gelato from many a company, but Pagoto (Fresko) has the best hands-down. I don’t remember the exact number of flavours - at least 25? But they change every now and then which gives you great variety. The Greek pride I get when I walk in there in unparalleled, with half of the flavours having some foundation in Greek culture. My pappou loved the watermelon and feta. Thank you all for your hard work and, the impact of this place means I will always say Pagoto (Fresko) is the superior gelato...

first they took my order wrong, then when I asked for it to be corrected, the lady got upset and threw the metal cutlery in her hand to the countertop angrily like it was my fault. maybe she was not directly upset at me but at the young fella who was working with him because of the mistake, but still it does not make it any better if that is the case. in total it took 45 minutes to get the 2 waffles in my order correctly. I was not thinking of giving a bad review even after what happened in the shop, till I go back home and taste those cold waffles I paid with my 45 minutes and $22. not sure which one is more likely, I mean either the waffles I had until this time was exceptionally good, or simply these waffles Fresko made were the worst of all times. thanks for their effort trying to fix my order after it has been taken incorrectly, which was an understandable human error I did not make a big problem out of, yet I can't give more than 1 star for this service and quality of the food I have...
