Thai Paragon Marrickville — Restaurant in Sydney

Take away was extremely disappointing 2/2/17 - the only part of the meal was the jasmine rice.

We ordered Chicken Pandan for entree - it was so hard to bite into, 2 of the 4 pieces had no soft centre at all after biting thru the hard shell on the outside. So bad was it, I thought that it had been reheated and not cooked fresh.

My wife had the Chicken lemongrass - the chicken was tough - vegetables did not taste fresh and there was hard large pieces of lemongrass in the sauce.

I had Massaman beef curry - so bad. The 1 1/2 of a potatoe was deep fried - no idea when. The beef was really over cooked to the point where it had a hard shell and I was pulling inedible pieces of beef out my mouth. Stringy dry beef with a hard crusty outside shell type taste.

We read the reviews and thought this will be good. Maybe we cracked a bad night, but a business that cared about it customers and reputation would not have allowed such poor food to be served.

It was so bad that I think they were getting rid of yesterdays leftovers as we ordered just as it opened. I realize Massaman beef is cooked for a long time - but not that long - it was the bottom of yesterdays...

The food at this restaurant is great. I had eaten at some Thai restaurants before and wanted to try the food there. The problem is that we were treated very strangely by the lady who was serving us. I thought it was strange because there were no complaints about the service in the reviews. The kitchen staff were great, but this lady treated us rudely, unlike the way she was treating the people at the tables around us. There is no plausible explanation other than the only one we can think of, which I won't even mention here. Anyway, we will never go back and we won't recommend it. Good food can be found everywhere. We value good service, otherwise we would have ordered through the app. We were paying like everyone else and we wish the atmosphere hadn't been so heavy because of this lady. Excellent service every time I use Paragon in Marrickville. They are the fastest Thai restaurant in the area. Only takes them between 8-15 minutes they get my orders out onto the table and ready for pick up from the shop. I usually order over the phone or walk down to make an order. Also eaten at the place and again, quick to get the food to you. These guys are just efficient and serve amazing food. I love their laksa and hokkien noodles the most, they have a great range and never let me down. Tasty menu, friendly service and always fast. They deserve 5 stars for being consistent and professional. I have used this restaurant for over 2 years now and I won't stop going back.
