This place is useless, apart from ok coffee I never get my order correctly because the attention to details is very poor… I specifically order a ham and cheese croissant and some how got a cheese toasty, this was also meant to be my lunch and was thrown away as I’m allergic to tomatoes ! By the time I got back to my car to head to work there was no time to go back and discuss the incorrect order they had given me.

Very disappointing that the morning love burger I ordered not only had been poorly displayed but had egg inside which was partly raw in the burger on the white parts which I couldn’t stomach as only the yoke should be like this. Lastly one more bad experience since I’ve been there many times was getting the green bowl take away, I paid well over $20 for this and was given the most brownest avocado, there was abit of broccoli In the box which to be honest was as hard as a rock and the hommus or whatever dip was thrown all over everything, it was not tasteful at all… if your prices are so high honestly provided better service from the kitchen section because it is far from pleasing.

Another thing about this owner which I never knew, it is really unprofessional to comment on every single bad review as I have only just noticed now with an extremely sarcastic comment, I believe in one of the reviews he calls the lady inappropriate names such as incompetent, a waste of time and unworthy of service! I’m shocked ! 😧 To the owner take this feedback as constructive criticism and best say nothing if not within a professional manner otherwise those ratings will drop a lot sooner then you will realise.

I am a business owner and can assure you I...

My wife and I are locals and have recently been coming to this cafe and will continue coming. The staff are friendly and respectful and always busy. The vibe is relaxed and rustic and clean. You can sit inside or outside and it takes on the morning sun which is a plus for us. The food is excellent , plenty and thoughtfully presented on the plates. Simply put the food is delicious. Apart from the menu items there are specials also to keep the food choices dynamic. Well thought out choices. I love the chilli eggs from presentation to empty plate and Avo on toast is aplenty with inclusions. We always indulge in a Prana Chai latte with a coffee shot on the side and it is the bomb. There are also plenty of coffee and latte choices including prepared Wraps and cakes to tantalise the tastebuds. The pricing is reasonable given that the food choice and presentation is way up there as one of the best cafes in Marrickville. You will not be disappointed when dining at this cafe. Parking is on the street and there is always a...

Feb 2022 Having visited numerous times for both breakfast, brunch, lunch & takeaway, I love the place more & more. Excellent coffee, delicious food, beautiful house made muffins & brownies & the biggest friendliest smiles and service!

2021 I stumbled upon this unassuming cafe & was so pleasently surprised! The menu had lots of options & on this occasion for breakfast I tried the big breakfast (swapped poached for fried eggs) which had absolutely everything yummy. Bacon, 2 eggs, 2 hashbrowns, chorizo, grilled mushroom, spinach, smashed avo & a cube of feta. It was all cooked really well & presented beautifully. The ricotta pancakes were light & not overly sweet with a berry compote, ricotta & fresh seasonal fruit (I added Nutella!) Again it looked so pretty & was delicious to eat. The scrambled eggs were done well and the house made raspberry white choc muffin was warm from the oven & fluffy. Coffee was excellent as was the service & super friendly staff. Really enjoyed everything here & looking forward to...

We’re Marrickville locals and every time we visit the Giant Bean we think “why don’t we come here more often?” (The answer is that there’s so many good local options and this isn’t as close to home!) BUT it’s just so good - fresh and very reasonably priced + friendly and attentive service. I dined for brunch today with hubby and our 14mo (who enjoyed their courtesy high chair - the classic ikea one). Hubby got their brekkie burger and was very happy, and I got their corn fritters with halloumi option and had zero regrets. Ordering corn fritters at a cafe can be risky - sometimes not firm enough - but these were very yummy and well cooked, (though could be a bit more crispy if I was going to be fussy!). Including an iced latte and strong flat white, our bill came to a bit less than $50 which I thought was very reasonable for 2024. When we visit I usually get the avo on toast, which comes with bacon and feta- always a fav. Will definitely be back with the family. Local favourite for sure.
