“Unpleasant Service Experience at Hanoi on King Newtown” - I’d like to share my disappointment about the service I received at the restaurant on this Thursday.

It was my first visit to this restaurant, prompted by numerous recommendations to try the beef noodle. However, the experience was far from what I anticipated, primarily due to the service provided by a lady who appeared the owner, aged between 30 to 45 years. This is service I have never encountered in other restaurants.

The restaurant was not crowded, yet the service was notably poor. The waiter was dismissive throughout our interaction. There was not a single smile from her, and she remained completely silent during the checkout process, she handed the EFTPOS directly to me without saying a word, not even offering a basic "Thank you." Such an attitude is not only disappointing but also embarrassing. I'm really ashamed of her. It is unsettling to receive such unwelcoming service from a place that came highly recommended.

This experience has significantly dampened my enthusiasm for this restaurant, to the extent that I am discouraged from returning. I had hoped for a pleasant dining experience but was left feeling disheartened.

Quaint little place that packs a punch on flavour! Had lunch/breakfast there today. First up it's really cute inside and the owner was very accommodating and friendly. Sat on the side booth style and ordered. 2x pho small Fried pork spring roll Tea Chilli fresh. Pho arrived and we dug in with outr additives. Me chucking abhell of a lot of chilli in lol Very nice balanced flavors but the texture of the meat was the star it was very silky smooth. Delicious 😋 Spring rolls in rice paper cut to bit size had an awesome flavour that the vietnamese do so well Tea green leaves is a big tick not bags! Look I find with pho it's all very personal sometimes I like more than others and although I loved this I like the local one I usually have better. But it's hardly worth down scoring as it was excellent 👌 just bit different sooooo. Defo a five stars from us and service was lovely too. Everyone was Viet except for us so I'd say it's rated well. What I appreciated too was mint and lettuce served with spring rolls to wrap in which you barely get anymore..... Definitely worth it at a mere 49...

We had the pleasure of casually walking into this place for what we expected to be a quick bowl of Pho. What we experienced was nothing short of exceptional!! Authentic, with an artisan touch (homemade Vietnamese preserves and chilly sauce!) Having lived with Vietnamese for 15 years of my life, I can be very hard to please when it comes to so called authentic cuisine. I was left speechless at how authentic and delicious our dishes were. We had the beef pho and lemongrass chicken vermicelli noodle salad. The flavours were devine. Once in a while you find a place that is truely authentic, but that usually means either atmosphere or service will be lacking. Hanoi in King ticks every box. Chai was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. Great service!!! The atmosphere embraced everything you could expect from the classy side of French culture blended with traditional Vietnamese. Classy cafe feel with pleasant music and traditional Vietnamese paintings on the walls. Not only will we be back, we highly recommend Hanoi in King...

Another tasty dish, full of flavour, crunch and veggies. This time was a stir fried rice noodles with tofu, carrots, mushrooms, soft gai lan, shallots, white cabbage. It sings tastiness, add a dash if the chilli sauce, or pickled garlic, and it's a revelation. Add a hot green tea and it's a warming winter lunch. Very easy and fragrant. From my last visit: This is a rich pho chay, a soup with soft noodles, lovely pieces of tofu, broccoli, mushrooms, including the Chinese dried mushrooms, gai lan, green cabbage, and plenty of crispy bean sprouts. It's good to take your time with the bowl, while the soup is scalding. Add the thai basil, sprouts and lemon. Then enjoy the tasty veggies with noodles, soup and perhaps a smidge of their crushed chilli in oil. Not too spicy, but brings a lovely burnt like flavour. I had a regular bowl and it was filling. This is a glorious bowl to have on an afternoon. Also try the jasmine tea. Next time I might go for a green rice cake. This is worth a visit.
