Went there hoping for good gyoza but was very disappointed, ordered a couple different types but the waiter did not even bother to tell us which one it was, although since I eat gyoza quite regularly I could tell but I had to explain to my friends. Also the filling was densely packed (probably frozen then cooked) because the inside was still a bit red/raw, but the outside was slightly burnt. The filling was bland for each variety of gyoza only upside was the accompanying sauces were decent. We also ordered the long fries which were also not great, could've done with a bit longer in the fryer and again it was very dense I would say maccas fries are better. The chicken karaage was also dry and tasteless, comes with mayo but.... you might aswell fry cardboard and have mayo on the side. The eggplant batter was thick which you would expect japanese tempura batter to be light. The other upside was they were mini tablets which you could order from. Although they do happy hours on certain days and times and the staff didn't bother to tell us about it and/or its also not on the tablet. The price of the food and drinks were also quite expensive for the food quality. The drinks were not bad.. Although the service could do with a lot of improvements. So for the happy hour .. we had to goto the bar to order which is fine and all..... but we stood there waiting to be served, there was another couple in front of us paying for their bill which was fine and that was taken care of by a staff member... but then there was another staff who seemed to have done a wash and took our glasses and jugs...she just kept walking back and forth seeming to not want to serve us. So I thought maybe they she was just a cleaner and didn't take orders. THEN.... another couple came up to the bar to pay for their bill and she took their bill!!!!!! She saw us waiting for 5-10mins and we were ahead of this other couple but she served them first.... !!!!! WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!... after they finished paying for their bill we thought maybe she will serve us now.... but Noooo.... she was just messing with her till -.-... then after another 5min wait she FINALLY takes our order... 2 Jugs of beer... but GUESS WHAT ... she uses the JUGS that just came out of the wash.... nice warm hot JUGS... perfect to go with your beer.... at this point I was fuming but we were already planning to leave soon so I didn't bother complaining..... BUT wow... worst service ever.... and usually every japanese place I've been to has not has service as...

Long story short: food is great but service is horrible. (Review on 2/10/24)

We were here for the Omurice special pop up as it was advertised on my feed and we were really keen to try it in Sydney. Upon our arrival, we were told by a friendly staff that the wait is going to be an hour since the chef is going around the table and serve every guest even though we have a booking. Sure no problem, maybe because the chef is very popular and entertaining. We sat down, ordered some gyoza and the beef tataki, thinking we can have a few bites and drinks while waiting. The beef tataki was pretty good. But we waited for at least 45 minutes for 5 pieces of gyoza. When we reached out to one of the staff members, we were told that it was coming. Sure, maybe the kitchen is busy with other tables so we waited for another 15 minutes. We reached out once again and they realised the kitchen had lost our order and they were making the gyoza straightaway. While all this waiting is happening, they provided us with complimentary edamame and lotus chips as a form of apology. I personally did not eat any as I am not accepting their apology through this gesture. The gyoza came eventually and it is delicious. After that, we got told by the staff that the chef is going to serve our table next because of the mistakes (we assumed). However, the table next to us, which were sat and ordered before us, will be served after us. It just wasn’t fair for them or for us at all despite their best effort to compensate. Omurice got served, and it was honestly the best we’ve ever had in Sydney, but we had our dinner in complete silence simply because the table next to us was discussing why we got food before them and we felt guilty for enjoying the Omurice. We’ve never wanted to leave a restaurant so badly. For someone who are currently working in the industry, we tried our best to justify all the mistakes that they made and convince ourselves to be respectful and patient. Nevertheless, it was a horrible experience for us regardless how tasty the food are and the management team have some serious...

I’m disappointed with my visit to Harajuku Gyoza. Coming here with a lovely group of friends and having already a previous good experience in the Gold Coast with the same franchise, I was expecting the same welcoming and warm treatment. However, I found the staff of this specific restaurant in Sydney to be inattentive, rude and dismissive towards myself and my friends.

The food was of an okay standard but very expensive. My chicken Katsu was burnt and very dark, we weren’t initially given table water and had to wait over half an hour before we got table water - this is after asking for it. Coming from a hospitality background, I understand how busy it can get in a restaurant at times, however I found the staff to be avoiding eye contact and didn’t ask for feedback or to see if we were comfortable once throughout the night.

They missed my friends order, and when my friend asked them to follow up on her missing dish, they simply said it had been delivered and that was that. No follow up, no accommodation. At the end of our dinner, we asked one of the waitresses for a take away container and she put her hand up in mine and my partners face and said to wait.. we waited and as she was about to go back downstairs to front of house, we pulled her aside again and said “excuse me, could we please have a take away container” and she waved her hand again and told us to wait ..

On top of this, when we went to the bathroom the floors were extremely dirty with visible mess laying around. The smell was very bad and the dining tables leading up to the toilets smelt like bleach.

I found this to be extremely rude and uninviting. This restaurant should take note from their partnering franchise in...

Now we all know Harajuku Gyoza is famous for their delicious Gyoza which pair perfectly with beer in their beer hall, but can we tell you that now, for a limited time, there’s also Sumo-Sized Sushi Tacos! If you’re a fan of sushi and tacos, then head in and try this mighty fine combo! These giant sushi tacos come in three tasty flavours - Crispy Karaage, Sashimi Salmon, or Tofu and Avocado. We were interested to see how these went, and weren’t sure how they’d hold together, but they absolutely do. The nori paper has been lightly fried in tempura, filled with rice and a decent portion of the topping and served in a cardboard holder. We even cut one in half and still held well. The rice is beautifully seasoned and the toppings are so moreish. The karaage chicken and salmon sashimi options have a nice spicy sauce on them too. For the vegetarians and vegans, the tofu and cucumber is perfect and also quite refreshing. Pair with the signature Yuzu highball cocktail or Yoyogi Pale Ale. We grabbed a beer and the paring is certainly recommended. Only for a limited time only, so be quick. We also had some their Gyoza, or little Japanese dumplings - the duck ones, poached with spiced vinegar and candied orange. We also had kingfish sashimi, karage and fries Find these at the Harajuku Gyoza Beer Stadium which is down in Darling Harbour. Great for a night out and to experience features of Japanese culture and food. 6-8 Nicolle Walk Darling Harbour

This fusion Japanese restaurant at darling harbour specialises in different types of gyozas and Japanese alcohol mainly beer. The interior is massive though, double height space with bare walls & ceilings and a grandstand seating arrangement that’s takes you up to a mezzanine with more seating and beer brewery is located on ground level in the main dining area. Food menu includes dumplings, share plates, bowls, vegan and desserts. Harajuku is a place where you come with groups of people and order food to share. The portions are quite small & expensive, so ordering a variety of dishes to share and enjoy is the way to go. Average cost per person would be $20-40 including a beer. Luckily I was able to save 25% using entertainment book which brought the total bill down from $80+ to $63, which I thought was a more reasonable range. After eating from Mikazuki the previous night, Harajuku is no where near the quality in terms style & taste of of dishes, however I did enjoy the different flavours of gyozas and the beef tataki was beautifully seared and soaked in yuzu & wasabi sauce. Overall, personally in order to enjoy a nice meal at Harajuku you need a group of 4 or more as the food is quite pricey. However you could also go there and enjoy a few Japanese cocktails or beer with some gyozas.
