Tucked by the sunny shores of Manly beach, this popular fish and chips shop is a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike. With its cheerful vibe and inviting aroma of fried goodness, it's hard to resist. Ample seating area by the beach and also right outside this chippy offers a perfect spot to enjoy the salty breeze and watch some beach action. The menu has the usual crispy battered fish fillets, served alongside a portion of fresh and hot chips. One can choose from a variety of fresh fish options, from classic Cod to Flathead tails to succulent John Dory to. For those craving something some more, there is also salmon and calamari. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but that’s Manly/Sydney. With its laid-back atmosphere and delicious fare, this chippy captures the essence of beachside dining, making it a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and beach enthusiasts alike.

Friendly owners, huge servings of decent quality and reasonable prices. Having walked out of an establishment on the Manly Wharf (after seeing the servings and prices for fish & chips), we wandered up to an old favourite, which has been in operation since the late 50's (various owners). No regrets with that decision and we happily sat beside the sand and watched the people wander past. We both ordered the standard fried fish and chips. A huge piece of well cooked fish was provided and far too many chips. Circa $32 for two people. Next time? Two fish and one chips.

Located at 108 The Corso, Manly, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. A great to get your lunch or just a snack while visiting Manly. The food is cooked to order and has always tasted fantastic every time I have come. The prices are really reasonable and walking distance to the beach. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Always a good idea to get in to order before the crowds come because it has proven to be very popular with the locals and the visitors. Definitely recommend

I used to work at a local fish and chips and this place was below expectations. Firstly the food was acceptable 4.5/10 as I requested lightly battered but they disregarded my request or perhaps forgot? Nevertheless, they also make you purchase sauce and automatically order everything in a large size for you (to earn more money and yes this includes the “large tomato sauce”). The service was acceptable with the waitress just taking our orders and gave a smile but pleases and thank you’s wouldn’t hurt too. The atmosphere was not great as unfortunately it was windy that day and this store don’t have a front door to keep the wind out which meant we were freezing cold waiting for our order whilst the employees just went to the back to work or not be frozen like us, so overall the atmosphere wasn’t great either.

This is the response from the owner on the 23rd November: “ Hi J not sure you have the right store. It is a sweltering 29c in manly and we are across from the beach!!”

To clarify I had this experience at 7pm 30th October 2024 (I don’t write reviews straight after the experience as it’s likely that the review will have bias due to emotions), this response from the owner is just clear that they completely disregard honest criticism. I had rated the stars disregarding the weather, as I understand that’s it’s not in your control. But the response from the business just clearly indicates that they don’t think their store has any faults. Even the lies they spread of “homemade sauce” I guarantee you that they purchase a large 4L bottle of ketchup purchased in bulk and just pour them into the plastic containers, what I didn’t mention previously was that my parents owned a chain of stores and one of which was a chippy which I worked at from aged 16, so it’s just blatant ignorance and deception to say that your sauces are “homemade” when you can just taste that it wasn’t homemade and to charge...

Came here for the family pack ($60) and octopus ($19). The person at the counter was like a robot just fulfilling as many orders as possible. There was a lack of customer service, so I should’ve known from the get go to avoid the place. The family pack comes with two sauces, the lady at the counter gave me one tartare and one tomato sauce, again red flag should’ve realised it was about cutting costs as much as possible, for this pathetic of an excuse of a food place. She did not ask me what sauces I wanted just gave those two to me, I had to ask for two tartare sauces.

I finally received my order after a long wait. I asked for three small trays so that my family could eat the food we purchased and was told I had to pay 50c per small cardboard plate. WHY??

Sorry I understand business but this is just leeching off customers which is ridiculous when it costs 10c or less for these small trays. I then told her I want to get a refund for my order, I am not ordering from here again. She then called the owner whose name was Bobby and he was Indian, finally realised why the leeching was happening. He ended up giving me the three small trays, but I was left with a really bad taste in my mouth from the experience of the amount of leeching this place does.

Will never ever go here again. I know that they are busy here but the amount of leeching is...
