A beautiful café that overlooks the ocean. As I entered the Starbucks establishment in Manly, my nostrils were thick with the scent of the sea salt, oceanic breeze and cigarette smoke from outside in the plaza. I was first greeted by some slightly inattentive staff who soon decided to come to the realisation that I had in fact, entered the café. Upon ordering a Mocha Frappuccino, the genuine and sincere cashier asked for my name as reference for when I would receive my order in the coming minutes. I waited silently and patiently amidst a small collective of fellow customers who were stampeding about and kicking up a stink due to their inability to decipher their names on the side of their orders. Presto! My succulent and juicy Frappuccino had finally arrived... Or was it mine? Unbeknownst to me, the charming cashier had written on the side of my order only what I can describe as “illegible cursive scrawl”. Hanging my head low due to the sudden symptoms of the cataclysmic “bruh momentum” that had just hit me, I shamefully dragged my feet across the ground until I had reached a vacant couch to sit on and consume my (or unidentifiable person’s) coffee. The coffee went alright, i.e it was “not behd” and a “good size” if you wish to express its value in post-modernistic jargon. Would highly recommend....
Read moreI craved my favourite Java Chip this morning so even though I am busy working, went out to grab a coffee. I know the one who served me is a new staff as I am a regular customer here.
I went back to my office and was so disappointed when I tasted the java chip as its as I am drinking water with crushed ice. I was contemplating not tk return it as I was so busy doing month end reports but decided to because I don't want to waste my $9.00 for nothing.
Went back to the same girl, politely told her that my coffee doesn't taste anything. Like there's no hint of sugar or even coffee flavour in it. She asked me what I want to do, and I said I want it changed.
She informed that that it will still taste the same if she changed it as that was the taste of what I ordered. And I said no. I am always ordering coffee from this branch and this was the only time it was tasteless. She even asked me what should I want to put in my coffee, I said I don't know.
Good thing another lady approached me and did another coffee for me. And I realised that the first girl who did my coffee might forgot to pump a syrup on my coffee as I haven't seen her did that unlike the second lady did.
I thanked the second lady who changed my coffee. But never again will I order on...
Read moreAs a fairly new addition to the corso Starbucks wasn't exactly something that initially had me the least bit excited. It had been years since I'd tried their coffee and I can still reminder they lackluster taste to this day.. so I didn't go in with the highest of expectations, if any at all, and I'm glad I didn't.
This particular Starbucks is a bit on the cozy side size wise, but what it lacks in room, it makes up for with the taste of the coffee. It's nothing like I remember. I truly enjoyed every last drop of my flat white with soy, and have returned several times just for the uniquely awesome taste this coffee house has to offer.
My only critique is that for whatever reason, perhaps just bad luck on my part, my order seemed to have been forgotten or at least parts of it. Not a big deal really but when it happens consistently I feel like a star shoots...
