Minelli's Pizzeria & Cafe — Restaurant in Sydney

We ordered pizza. There were only 2 tables being served. It took a while to cook and when it came to us it wasn't hot. The waitress apologised for having taken so long. We were ok although no idea why it did. The pizza tray and pizza came alone - no cutlery, plates or serviettes, and no sign of anyone bringing us any. When we called the waitress and pointed it out, she apologised and brought us plates and wet cutlery - I kid you not - wet. We then looked at each other, and called her again, politely asking for serviettes. She then brought a pack of them, and apologised again. The pizza was average. In summary: they are bad, if not terrible, at service, average at pizza but GREAT at apologising. ALSO on their website it states that they have 100+ positive Google reviews. But when I had a look, there are only 32 reviews (33 with this one). So confused. We went because of the positive reviews, but I don't think even the existing reviews give an accurate picture of quality or service. I...

I was experiencing one of the most difficult days of my life, emotionally and physically exhausted, and I hadn’t eaten all day. I walked into the café feeling drained and overwhelmed, just hoping for a brief moment of peace. That’s when I encountered Yara. From the moment she greeted me, there was something truly grounding about her presence. Her calm, composed demeanour and the way she carried herself with such grace and professionalism immediately stood out. She didn’t need to say much her quiet attentiveness, the way she genuinely listened, and her respectful, warm energy made me feel seen and cared for in a way I hadn’t felt all day. It wasn’t just customer service it was connection, kindness, and integrity, all in the span of a few minutes. She turned my entire day around without even knowing it. I will absolutely return, not just because of the service, but because of the way she made me feel. Yara is going places, and I sincerely wish her all the best....

Today we celebrated my son’s 9th birthday. I went in to Minelli’s earlier in the week to see the place (because it smells amazing) and was greeted by the most wholesome staff. Told them I planned on coming back today for my son’s birthday. When I came today I was recognised by the same staff and received the same warm, welcoming reception today from all the staff. The food was absolutely delicious, pepperoni was our favourite out of the 3 pizzas we ordered, but all were delicious! staff regularly came to check how we were going and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. And they were most accommodating when I asked to bring a cake for my son’s birthday. They happily stored it and brought it out for us once we were ready!

Loved our whole evening and will most definitely be coming...
