The Sands: A sequence of very unfortunate events.
A highly disappointing experience that deteriorated rapidly from bad to worse.
Congratulations must be made for meeting the bare minimum standards of a restaurant as required by the NSW Food Authority, kudos.
10 minutes in I ordered a Gin and tonic to the table and got a gin and lemonade. Took it back to the bar and the bar tender passionately objected to the premise, he said it tastes like lemonade because it had a lemon in it. Ordered another later and it was served correctly.
BBQ chicken wings were dull and listless probably stemming from the long and weary fatigue of a deep freezer. They presented as completely unseasoned and deep fried chicken with with a Maccas size serving of BBQ sauce (like what you would receive with 3 nuggets).
Scotch fillet was cooked close to medium rare (slightly over) which is forgiving; chips were stone cold. Made it a surf and turf and the prawn in garlic sauce was served piping hot in stark contrast to the rest of the cold meal and not remotely palatable. Steak was unseasoned.
The chicken Parmi was overcooked and tough and judging by its perfect round shape is probably also a frozen product. The cheese wasn’t melted and had less coverage over the schnitzel than Vodafone’s mainland 4G network
Overall the venue is pleasant but a Jack and Co attached to a BP service station would...
Read moreThe food was great, and I was impressed by the efficiency in which our meals were served. The staff were incredibly friendly, going above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. One aspect that particularly stood out to me was the affordability of the menu. The prices were reasonable, making it a great option for both casual and special occasions. However, if there was one thing I would suggest improving, it would be to add a touch of ambiance with some background music. This would enhance the overall atmosphere of the place and add to the enjoyment of the dining experience.
Another aspect that I truly appreciated about the Narrabeen Sands Hotel is its location. Tucked away from the main roads and noise, it provided a serene and peaceful setting. It felt like a hidden gem, offering a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Overall, I highly recommend the Narrabeen Sands Hotel for its delicious food, attentive staff, and great value for money. With a small improvement in the ambiance, it would be the perfect spot for any...
Read moreGreat hotel, we stayed for the weekend to catch up with family! Great location and our room was lovely. We had breakfast in the Restaurant on Saturday Morning which was great, we were the only 2 people in the Restaurant. We were extremely disappointed with the service for Breakfast on Sunday morning. After waiting for 25 mins for our coffee's we got a hot latte that was supposed to be an iced latte, full cream milk cappuccino that was supposed to be oat milk cappuccino, after awaiting another 10 mins for another cappuccino, it arrived and was only half a cup cappuccino, not sure what happened to the other half! We were inhouse dining and all our drinks arrived in takeaway cups. Two meals were ordered, one meal arrived in about 20 mins and the other meal arrived completely wrong to what was ordered, the waiter took it back and another 15 mins went by for the correct meal to arrive. The restaurant was not busy, hate to think what the wait time would be if the restaurant was busy. This was a very disappointing experience when we were catching up...
