I like stopping by here occasionally for dinner. They have nice don bowls and a good selection of Japanese dishes. I keep coming back for the yuzu shu sake (something that's hard to find in Sydney Japanese restaurants).
They have a nice selection of cocktails and unlimited refills of the teapot.
Their service is really good. Tonight they were really looking after each customer.
Recommend for anyone that loves Japanese cuisine.
Book ahead if you're coming with a group. The seating is limited but the space is cosy. I enjoyed it. When it's busy the service is a little slow but that's expected of any busy restaurant.
I love their new summer menu. The fruit cocktail is non alcoholic but a good choice for dessert as it's pretty sweet.
The mango salmon summer rolls taste different on their own but once paired with the soy sauce and wasabi they're amazing. Nice combination of flavours!
Some reviewers are complaining that they don't greet you but in fact they do say welcome in Japanese and ask you how many people so they can seat you at an appropriate table. The staff also thank you upon leaving in the customary Japanese way including mini head bow. Very much appreciated!
On my most recent visit, I discovered you can make special orders with the chef for sushi not on their menu such as ikura salmon roe at market rates. So it's worth learning some Japanese or bringing along a translator. A nice hidden discovery for the real Japanese cuisine enthusiast!
Feb 2019: Still got the nice atmosphere and my favourite yuzu shu sake. I enjoyed the scallop carpaccio and new dessert option. They have done another great job on the monthly specials ^_^
Feb 2020: It's been about a year since I've been here and it definitely hasn't lost its charm. All my favourites still on the menu and they don't close the kitchen until 9:30pm. I stopped by about 8:30 and they were very welcoming :) not so busy at this time either - got to choose the seating. I must say that I do miss the creative cocktails that they used to promote last year. They should...
Read moreThis is for Nazimi Cafe. It seems it was hyped when some of the food bloopers blogging about this Cafe. We then 8 of us girls went and orders some of the menu. I am sorry but we now no longer trustfood bloggers, they got paid to promote the food in any of the restaurant or Cafe as part of their marketing campaign. It is no longer genuine reviews.i The items we ordered were very disappointing. From Bingsu, the Hochicha, Chesecake, Matcha Lattes. We were super disappointed when we had to wait for 2.5 hours in total to get the last order fulfilled. There should be an explanation there, but the service the ambience are very disappointing. We are so dissatisfied totally. Never ever believe in food bloggers. This is maybe the 6th time we got screwed with good reviews from the food bloggers and turned out they are far from standard. Unfortunately will never come back. The appearance of the items provided were bad, taste was not good. Sorry but just an...
Read moreOne day I passed this shop with my husband after work, first looked at the menu outside and thought it was good, then came in to dine.
This shop is located in a Japanese restaurant in the basement across the street from QVB. The space in the store is not large and the atmosphere is good.
We ordered a bowl of seafood udon. Although it didn't look like much, it was full, the seafood was fresh, the soup was light and delicious.
For another meal, I'm not sure of its name. It has rice, miso soup, sushi, sashimi and salad, and chicken. It was a good deal to order this meal and I was full!
Dessert after meal, sesame red bean ice cream and matcha red bean ice cream, the dishes are beautiful and delicious.
On the same day, the chopsticks were accidentally dropped to the floor, and the waiter immediately came to exchange a new pair of chopsticks.
Feeling intimate and good service attitude:)
Have the chance to dine in the...
