Not worth the price. I ordered the bread, thinking it would be a proper roll of bread. A piece of bread about 3/4 the size of a deck of playing cards was delivered, alongside a hard round slice of butter.
Honestly…I thought it was a complimentary roll. Nope, that’s what I ordered. A pathetic little Hobbit like piece of bread. To charge for something like that is absolutely shocking. At least tell me what to expect before I order it.
Maybe the conversation should be something like:
Waiter: sir, you do realize that it’s a pathetic example of a roll? Probably not worth the money?
Patron: how pathetic are we talking here?
Waiter: Pathetic like a 33 year old man still holding onto his professional sports career
Patron: ummm, never mind, I’ll take some water and order Uber Eats
Next was the tartar. For the price I figured a proper serving of tartar would come. Again, I was sorely disappointed. It was a serving size appropriate for an ant. And, not seasoned. Would have fit perfectly in the movie Zoolander.
For the main course, the steak special. To be fair, the steak was cooked nicely, but under seasoned. The greens were fantastically over seasoned and if I had not been as hungry as I was, they would have been inedible. It took a lot of water to choke them down. What was really interesting was that the main came out barely warm, with two cold disks of herbed butter balanced on top.
So basically I had to butter my steak like a piece of toast. That was a first for me.
I really love the hotel here and stay often, but I’ll be avoiding the restaurant attached.
Also, the service is pretty poor, even for Australian standards. So that’s...
Read moreWas staying at the lodge and stopped into the bar as there was a line up for the checking at the lodge.
⭐️ They have a happy hour 4-7 couple of work nights per week, most beers $6- Top value. Tried the bar menu - it was great and well above your expectation of a bar - my freind had the Sous Vide Pork Belly which looked good. I had the chicken schnitzel which for $25 was excellent value the chicken and batter was fresh crunchy and tasted delicious the accompanying salad was fresh and crunchy Lol.
I had the chocolate Brûlée - which was the only reason I skipped the pork entree already mentioned. I love a brûlée - this one was very nice but I won’t be changing to brûlée at home from the standard - the chocolate was now to try though.
The restaurant menu looked nice but I thought the bar menu offered excellent value, and the chance to sit out in the delightful courtyard.
I have included a picture from the breakfast menu, which was a buffet with custom coffee - and was better prepared and presented than the standard high quality hotel Buffett. The blonde more maturer waitress was very helpful prompt and on the ball - she deserved a top rated 9/10 - star excellent...
Read moreLovely Atmosphere but Overpriced and Limited Variety…
We recently dined here and I must say, the atmosphere was absolutely delightful. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by warm lighting, cozy decor, and a welcoming ambiance that set the perfect tone for the evening.
However, despite the charming atmosphere, I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the prices on the menu. While I expected a premium for the ambiance, the cost of the dishes seemed disproportionately high compared to the quality of ingredients. It left me feeling like I didn't quite get the value I was hoping for.
Moreover, the menu lacked variety. While the dishes offered were undoubtedly well-prepared, there were limited options to choose from, especially for those with dietary restrictions or preferences. It would have been nice to see a more diverse selection to cater to a wider range of tastes.
While it excelled in creating a lovely atmosphere, it falls short in terms of pricing and variety. It turned out not to be a great spot for a special occasion, but be prepared to pay a premium for the ambiance, and don't expect an extensive...
