Nua Lao Thai Restaurant is an absolute gem for anyone seeking an authentic and flavorful Thai dining experience. I recently had the pleasure of trying a variety of their dishes, and the culinary journey was nothing short of delightful.
Let's dive into the deliciousness of their offerings. The mince pork with chili and basil sauce was a symphony of flavors. The savory, perfectly seasoned pork combined with the aromatic basil and a kick of chili created a harmonious blend that tantalized the taste buds. Each bite was an explosion of rich, spicy goodness that left me craving more. Spicy level 🔥🔥
The marinated deep-fried quail was an absolute showstopper. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor, it was a culinary masterpiece. Paired with the Lao chili sauce, it offered a delightful balance of heat and tanginess that elevated the quail to a whole new level. Spicy level 🔥
The papaya salad was a refreshing interlude amidst the spices. The crispness of the papaya combined with the tangy dressing was a perfect palate cleanser, preparing me for the next round of flavors. Spicy level 🔥🔥🔥
Now, let's talk about the fermented sour pork rib. This dish was a revelation. The bold, tangy taste of the fermented pork ribs was unique and utterly delicious. The fermentation process lent it a depth of flavor that was both intriguing and satisfying. Spicy level 🔥🔥
And finally, the spicy salmon salad. Freshness meets spiciness in this dish. The succulent salmon combined with the vibrant spices and herbs created a burst of flavors that danced on my tongue. It was a delightful exploration of taste and texture. Spicy level 🔥🔥🔥

Read moreThese dishes were an exciting and flavorful dive into Thai cuisine, and I absolutely loved the bold tastes and fresh ingredients.
Som Tum with Salmon Sashimi: The papaya salad was such a vibrant mix of sweet, sour, spicy, and savory flavors. The green papaya was crisp and refreshing, blending perfectly with juicy cherry tomatoes, crunchy green beans, and a tangy lime dressing. What really stood out was the addition of fresh salmon sashimi and fish roe on top. The buttery texture of the salmon and the subtle pop of the roe added a luxurious twist to this classic Thai dish. It was refreshing and indulgent at the same time.
Raw Blue Swimmer Crab with Spicy Sauce: The raw blue swimmer crab was incredibly fresh, and its natural sweetness paired beautifully with the dipping sauce. The sauce was a zesty mix of chili, lime, and garlic that brought a fiery kick to every bite. It was bold and spicy yet balanced, and the shredded cabbage on the side provided a nice, refreshing crunch.
One thing I really appreciated was that they let me customize the spiciness level for both dishes when I placed my order. But fair warning—don’t get too confident! Even their "medium" spiciness gave my South-East Asian tongue quite a burn, so tread carefully if you’re not used to serious heat.
