Nua Lao Thai Restaurant is an absolute gem for anyone seeking an authentic and flavorful Thai dining experience. I recently had the pleasure of trying a variety of their dishes, and the culinary journey was nothing short of delightful.

Let's dive into the deliciousness of their offerings. The mince pork with chili and basil sauce was a symphony of flavors. The savory, perfectly seasoned pork combined with the aromatic basil and a kick of chili created a harmonious blend that tantalized the taste buds. Each bite was an explosion of rich, spicy goodness that left me craving more. Spicy level 🔥🔥

The marinated deep-fried quail was an absolute showstopper. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor, it was a culinary masterpiece. Paired with the Lao chili sauce, it offered a delightful balance of heat and tanginess that elevated the quail to a whole new level. Spicy level 🔥

The papaya salad was a refreshing interlude amidst the spices. The crispness of the papaya combined with the tangy dressing was a perfect palate cleanser, preparing me for the next round of flavors. Spicy level 🔥🔥🔥

Now, let's talk about the fermented sour pork rib. This dish was a revelation. The bold, tangy taste of the fermented pork ribs was unique and utterly delicious. The fermentation process lent it a depth of flavor that was both intriguing and satisfying. Spicy level 🔥🔥

And finally, the spicy salmon salad. Freshness meets spiciness in this dish. The succulent salmon combined with the vibrant spices and herbs created a burst of flavors that danced on my tongue. It was a delightful exploration of taste and texture. Spicy level 🔥🔥🔥

Overall, Nua Lao Thai Restaurant is a haven for food enthusiasts. The dishes not only showcased the authenticity of Thai cuisine but also highlighted the chef's expertise in blending flavors to perfection. We’re hitting our second raw marinated seafood spot right here at @nua_lao_thai in @visithaymarket 🥰 This brightly lit, bustling Thai - Laos restaurant is serving up deliciously authentic dishes, packed with Thai flavour and PERFECT for feeding large groups! We got: 🦀 Raw Marinated Seafood Platter - SUPER generous, packed with salmon sashimi, raw prawns, crab legs 🥰 they also serve it with this spicy, salty sauce that seriously packs a punch! Definitely recommend giving this a try, could feed 3 people all by itself ✨ 🐟Fried Barramundi - ABSOLUTELY beautiful fried fish - I loved that they chopped the fish up off the bone into bite sized pieces so it was so easy to eat! Definitely a must try ✨ 🍜Prawn Tom yum - literally could not go wrong, salty, sour, warm! Everything you want from a Tom yum :) 🥥 Coconut Icecream - strong coconut flavour while still staying light as an icecream! They also have unique fruit including palm seed that makes for a unique experience! Definitely worth the try!

These dishes were an exciting and flavorful dive into Thai cuisine, and I absolutely loved the bold tastes and fresh ingredients.

Som Tum with Salmon Sashimi:
The papaya salad was such a vibrant mix of sweet, sour, spicy, and savory flavors. The green papaya was crisp and refreshing, blending perfectly with juicy cherry tomatoes, crunchy green beans, and a tangy lime dressing. What really stood out was the addition of fresh salmon sashimi and fish roe on top. The buttery texture of the salmon and the subtle pop of the roe added a luxurious twist to this classic Thai dish. It was refreshing and indulgent at the same time.

Raw Blue Swimmer Crab with Spicy Sauce:
The raw blue swimmer crab was incredibly fresh, and its natural sweetness paired beautifully with the dipping sauce. The sauce was a zesty mix of chili, lime, and garlic that brought a fiery kick to every bite. It was bold and spicy yet balanced, and the shredded cabbage on the side provided a nice, refreshing crunch.

One thing I really appreciated was that they let me customize the spiciness level for both dishes when I placed my order. But fair warning—don’t get too confident! Even their "medium" spiciness gave my South-East Asian tongue quite a burn, so tread carefully if you’re not used to serious heat.

Both dishes were perfect with steamed rice, which helped balance out the spice and rounded out the meal beautifully. If you’re into bold, fresh Thai flavors and aren’t afraid of a little heat, these dishes...

📍Nua Lao Thai, Haymarket SUPER EXTENSIVE menu with authentic north-eastern Thai specials! this restaurant has also been operating for 15 years 🌟 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 the raw-marinated seafood had a strong soy flavour, and goes well with the fish sauce would highly recommend their fish dishes - very crunchy and fresh :) the flavours of the papaya salad with salmon are quite tangy and does get spicy 🌶️ the crispy rice salad was quite nice, but slightly too acidic for me green milk tea (not matcha haha) was delicious! first time I had the drink the coconut icecream was truly the whole package - jackfruit, nata de coco, fresh coconut pieces and shaved peanuts 𝐖𝐄 𝐆𝐎𝐓: • BBQ fish with rice noodles and lettuce leaves $36.9 (signature) 🌟 • Larb barramundi $39.9 🌟 • Salmon plara $35.9 • Crispy rice salad with fermented pork roll $24.9 • Tom yum Talay $35.9 🌟 • Coconut icecream $14.9 🌟 • Thai milk tea $6.9 • Young coconut $7.9 • Lemon iced tea $6.9 • Green tea milk $6.9 🌟 [invite]
