I don't normally write reviews but I was so disappointed and left angry that led me to vent my frustration. I am a fellow restaurant owner and it really hurts when you get a negative review and hence I write this review with a heavy heart. I ordered a couple of dishes to take-away at 7:11pm and waited outside since the restaurant seemed pretty busy, upon waiting I realised other customers who ordered after me were getting their orders. I asked a gentlemen where my order was and he just told me that they were busy and that there was a wait. I understand everyone is understaffed during these difficult times but I couldn't understand how they still took on at least 3 delivery platforms that kept ringing in the background asking them to accept orders, they could have easily shut them off during the busy period so they could focus on their existing customers. I asked again a little later to a lady and she said she would check with the kitchen, which obviously didn't happen. I waited another 10 minutes and asked a different lady, telling her that I would rather cancel if they haven't started making my order, it was 35 minutes since I made the order. She said 2 minutes but it took another 10 minutes for my order to finally come out and a different lady handed my bag offering a can of coke for the long wait. I refused their way of covering up their mistake, out of the 4 people who I spoke to, not one had the courage to look at me and just apologise that there was a stuff up or a long wait. Not once. Food is great from past experience but service does not exist and common decency didn't exist. Will never be coming back to this...

next level of bad service….

ask for chilli powder. they just nodded and didnt say anything. we were amazed but we just laugh it off

when we finish eating, they clean our 4 bowl of soup by stacking everything. OF COURSE ITS SOUP AND SPILLING EVERYWHERE. it got into our friend’s pants and table all watery from the soup AND NO SINGLE APOLOGIZE AND NOBODY CLEAN THE SOUP ON THE TABLE…….. they just didnt give a damn abt it

we ordered mango sticky rice with ice cream, but it came only mango sticky rice. we couldnt check our previous order, so we thought maybe we ordered wrong one and just ate it and ordered new ice cream. but suddenly they brought new one and didnt say anything again. confused, we double check to them and they just said in thai to our friend “oh other staff mistaken the table, so i will charge you for the sticky rice” like hello???? no basic manner at all. we have to call them back to return the newest sticky rice and then she started speaking thai again to my friend and said “but before you said it was okay to charge you?” gosh not even sorry? this human who work here are all crazy rude i guess.

it used to be my fav restaurant as its always busy and have long waiting list, but seeing today its empty…… maybe you should fix your customer...

Disgusting and racist service! Never coming back. Waited patiently outside for 25 mins for a table then once we ordered and our food arrived the wait staff were constantly hassling us trying to clear away plates while we were still eating and then after less than an hour with food still on the table asked us to finish and leave so they could give the table to someone else. When we refused as we were still eating they asked us to move to another table so a larger group could sit and we agreed - they then proceeded to continue to continue to hassle us every 2 minutes to hurry up and leave. It got to the point where we actively had to tell them to stop and simply let us finish. There were plenty of other tables who had finished eating and were sitting around chatting who didn’t get harassed - it appears that as we were the only table that was included non-Asian people it was easier to continue to rudely rush us out. After being completely fed up we confronted the staff on their behaviour who and then they were so disorganised we had to wait 10 minutes in line to pay - by this time there were several empty tables and no line outside so I’m really not sure what the point was of treating...

I stumbled upon Dodee Paidang in Haymarket on a whim, drawn in by the vibrant colors and the delicious aroma wafting out onto the street. Stepping inside, the first thing that struck me was the lively atmosphere. The place was buzzing with conversation and the clatter of cutlery, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. I opted for the Tom Yum soup, a classic Thai dish I love. The broth was bursting with flavor, the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and savory. The noodles were springy and cooked to perfection, and the generous portion of vegetables and shrimp added a satisfying heartiness to the dish. While I savored my meal, I couldn't help but overhear snippets of conversations from neighboring tables. It seemed like a mix of locals and tourists, all united by their love for good food. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Overall, Dodee Paidang is a hidden gem in Haymarket. It offers authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine in a casual and vibrant setting. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Sydney.

Conveniently located opposite Market City, this Thai restaurant is frequently patronised by locals and tourists. The food is authentic and reminds me of meals in Thailand. The highlights for me: - Reasonably priced. The steamed fish was truly value for money at $20.90 for a whole fish. Loved how they stuffed it with herbs and that enhanced the flavours significantly. The level of lime in the broth was also spot on. - Staff were attentive and pleasant. - After placing the order via QR code, there was an indication of how long to expect for the food. As for the other dishes ordered: - The crab meat fried rice was quite nice, although i would have preferred fried rice that is less "wet". It did taste good with the chilli in fish sauce condiment that came with it. Although a little dearer, the portion was quite large for a single person to consume. The amount of crab was of moderate amount. - The quail egg wontons were fried crispy but had a quaint vinegar taste to it. Overall, a pleasant meal and I can understand why people keep coming back to Doodee. Definitely on the list of places I would come back to.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Once in a long while we shall find a perfectly satisfying meal in simple restaurants with long lines. This was one. Here featuring the savories. Great balance of textures and spices (heat, slightly sweet, with a dash of acidity) can be found on the noodles. Mine was a tender rib noodle with level 4 spicy (from a scale of 1-7) and I requested an order of fried pork cackling for extra oomph. Rice soup was wonderful too, so much flavors packed into one seemingly simple bowl! Moo Ping (pork neck satay) was tender and great, with the chilli dip providing incredible balance. Then the desserts... Found king of fried bread (cakwe/dough fritter). Served with sangkaya (sweet pandan and egg jam), it was a great harmony of flavors. The durian sticky rice was also extra good with numerous flavored sticky rice and slivers of jackfruits adding texture nuances to the classic thai dessert. Ending the meal of noodles and rice soup, we left satisfied none too stuffed. All, plus some takeaways, still below AUD 50 🤩
