🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Once in a long while we shall find a perfectly satisfying meal in simple restaurants with long lines. This was one. Here featuring the savories. Great balance of textures and spices (heat, slightly sweet, with a dash of acidity) can be found on the noodles. Mine was a tender rib noodle with level 4 spicy (from a scale of 1-7) and I requested an order of fried pork cackling for extra oomph. Rice soup was wonderful too, so much flavors packed into one seemingly simple bowl! Moo Ping (pork neck satay) was tender and great, with the chilli dip providing incredible balance. Then the desserts... Found king of fried bread (cakwe/dough fritter). Served with sangkaya (sweet pandan and egg jam), it was a great harmony of flavors. The durian sticky rice was also extra good with numerous flavored sticky rice and slivers of jackfruits adding texture nuances to the classic thai dessert. Ending the meal of noodles and rice soup, we left satisfied none too stuffed. All, plus some takeaways, still below AUD 50 🤩

Dodee was at its best pre pandemic when the back wall was lined with aunties prepping food. The staff are a lot younger on average these days and the brisk service with minimal communication can be a bit frustrating during busy periods but with the qr code ordering it fills that service gap. They're pretty much always busy, open late and do takeaway. Food is good and consistent, satisfying even if not the best possible version of the dish you will ever have in Sydney, but consistent across the board. Famous for their boat noodles of varying heat, do not be super macho because even level 4 of 7 will make a chilli lover sweat. Order of food arrival can be odd so don't make the mistake of ordering dessert with your mains unless you are ok with them bringing it out before other things, the flexibility in the timing of the orders is kinda missing. Overall, a solid Thai institution in Sydney, trading a bit on that history but still an important fixture here.

I stumbled upon Dodee Paidang in Haymarket on a whim, drawn in by the vibrant colors and the delicious aroma wafting out onto the street. Stepping inside, the first thing that struck me was the lively atmosphere. The place was buzzing with conversation and the clatter of cutlery, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. I opted for the Tom Yum soup, a classic Thai dish I love. The broth was bursting with flavor, the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and savory. The noodles were springy and cooked to perfection, and the generous portion of vegetables and shrimp added a satisfying heartiness to the dish. While I savored my meal, I couldn't help but overhear snippets of conversations from neighboring tables. It seemed like a mix of locals and tourists, all united by their love for good food. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Overall, Dodee Paidang is a hidden gem in Haymarket. It offers authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine in a casual and vibrant setting. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Sydney.

This popular Thai restaurant is dishing out one of the best Tom Yum noodle soup bowls in Sydney. The broth is a perfect balance of sweet, source, salt and chilli. The contents are highly configurable, with a variety of topping choices (meat balls, seafood, tender ribs), noodles (egg, glass etc) and levels of spiciness (1-7). My favourite configuration is glass noodles with combination at level 3. I have yet to go beyond this level as I aim to drink all the soup, but I am sure level 7 will burn a trail all the way through your system. I also like the Tom Yum soup with soft boiled rice, so just imagine the noodle soup above but replace the noodles with rice. They also have an interesting dessert where deep dried doughs are served with a pandan flavoured dipping sauce. Their other dishes are competent but not outstanding.

Came here for dinner. This place is nice and cosy...the staff were pretty friendly. I've ordered one their tom yum flavoured noodle soup - 'Doodee Monster'. This is a regular portion. The spicy level was only lvl 1 but you could already feel the heat with the first slurp of the soup. BUT It's bearable (so try it if you can handle a bit of heat)...I can't imagaine what lvl 7 would be like!! If you like Thai ice milk tea...I would recommend their 'Thai ice green tea'. It has an interesting tea fragrance. Simply delicious 👌 Definitely need to order their 'Mixed jelly with coconut' as well. It's a very yummy dessert with various toppings!!! Not overly sweet...just the right amount of sweetness. Comes with some ice shaved mixed in the dessert. I would have ordered two of these if I wasn't so full!

Came here based on a friend’s recommendation. They were quite popular and we needed to wait a bit of time to get a seat. The service was decent but seemed sort of rushed, such that the tables were a bit dirty (just had a quick wipe down) and no one set the table for us. We ordered on our phones via the QR code, which was a super fast and easy process. The food was good. I got the Tom yum noodles with salmon. I enjoyed the food, but it took ages for it to come. My friends meal came relatively quickly but mine came about 30 mins or more after his, such that he had almost finished his meal (despite trying to eat slowly). Not a bad place to eat, but if you order something on the menu that is a bit out of the ordinary (not their regular Tom yum noodles with pork), don’t expect it to come quickly.
