Appalling! My wife and I had a pretty bad experience here. Our mains were very average, but our deserts were pretty bloody awful. We ordered a mango pudding each and when they came out they tasted fizzy and the fruit on top had clearly gone beyond the point of edible and had started to ferment. Upon further inspection we discovered mold growing on the surface of the pudding and around the base of the plastic cup it came served in. I notified the waiter of this and he denied that it was old and that it was prepared earlier that morning. I told him that a dessert made that morning couldn’t possibly start to fester in the evening and that it clearly was days, if not weeks old. He stood his ground (rudely) and stuck to his original claim that it was freshly made that morning. Nonsense! There was mold, it tasted fizzy, the fruit was rotten! I don’t ever really like making a fuss at restaurants - the service and/or food has to be pretty bad for me to complain. However, since my wife is heavily pregnant and they saw it fit to serve her rotting food, and then deny that there was anything wrong with it made me quite angry! What made matters worse was the fact that they still intended to charge me for the puddings. After much debating they reluctantly agreed not to charge for the desserts and we left feeling like we had done something wrong. Honestly - give it a miss! There are much better establishments in the city area that sell much fresher Chinese cuisine at a far better price too I might add! This food is garbage for the money you pay! If I could give no...

We came for a breakfast expecting that the food would be really fresh, but it was the opposite.
We left shortly after eating a few dishes (5 small dishes) - which turned out to be really expensive for what it was. All together we paid $95.
We completely lost our appetite when we looked up and saw that the restaurant was surrounded by MOULD. The air vents on the ceiling had FURY MOULD coming out of it.
They offered Chinese broccoli (as per usual yum Cha restaurants) but to our surprise, there was a little vege/noodle stand in the open, in the corner of the room RIGHT NEXT TO THE TOILETS where they would blanch the broccoli and cook the noodles. There was mould right ontop of the open stand, so we had to quickly tell them that we didn’t want it anymore.
They gave us chilli sauce but when they gave it, there was one long hair right in the middle of it and it was very clear that it was one of the main ladies with short hair. When we told her, she just took it back and walked away without saying anything.
The food was not fresh at all, the chicken feet literally tasted like old feet, and the beef tripe was inedible. It was very starchy and thick.
The fried food was sitting out in the open for a while, and again, did not look fresh at all.
We sat there for 20 minutes before we had to ask them if more food was coming. The ladies just didn’t want to bring the cart over to us.
Overall, would not recommend unless you wanted to get sick from the mould and the food sitting out. The service was terrible, from the moment...
Read moreIf you search for yum cha within CBD, this place comes highly recommended by people on Reddit, Timeout, Broadsheet, and pretty much all other reputable sources. HOWEVER, this was probably the most disappointing yum cha I’ve ever had. It’s not even mid like an average yum cha in a western country, it’s actually just bad. I’m pretty convinced that people who recommend this place just don’t know what good yum cha is. I’ve had better yum cha in Chicago and that’s saying a lot.
The char siu barely has any flavor. In fact the buns were more flavorful when eating it. Portions of the char siu inside the buns were also small Bun bottoms were soggy. Nothing was super freshly out from the kitchen. The crispy pork belly was just ok. Had way too much meat+fat to skin ratio. Chicken feet were fine Price isn’t even that competitive. We had crispy pork belly, char siu buns, char siu bread buns, rice noodle, duck and mushroom dumpling for 2. Came out to $84 total… for that price it’s not worth the drop in quality. Saw an auntie drop the lid to the mango pudding pot and just brushed it off and put it back on. Used to it from eating in Asia but still a bruh moment.
Service was good and fast, you get pestering aunties pressuring you to order stuff and the chaos of yum cha.
If you’re just some tourist looking to “experience yum cha” this will be fine. If you’re Asian and have had any remotely good yum cha in HK or China, do yourself a...
